There is a reason why China and Russia boast a lot technology that turns out to be a joke, there is a reason for that. China and Russia tell their military manufacturers to come up with something great, so they produce something that at least when they test it under ideal conditions works. People get paid for their good work. In the US, they get tons of money to develop something that beats what their adversaries claim to have. They come up with something, but test to failure as a way to get more money. It's kind of like the reason cancer hasn't been eliminated, it's because there is more money in treating it than curing it, right? Same thing with the military.

Nobodies saying America hasn't contributed a lot to the modern world, but that doesn't change the fact Americans have an incredible superiority complex; as illustrated in this thread, Americans really do think they're better than everyone else on average. The mere mention of USA having a superiority complex is enough to make people furious and respond by listing all of USA's achievements/accomplishments, completely oblivious to the irony of what they're arguing.

Have you ever been to any of those countries? I've lived in Colombia for almost a decade and I know dozens of Colombians and Venezuelans and this couldn't be further from the truth. They all idolize the US and think everything about the US and Europe is superior to their country. If anything they have an inferiority complex. Lots of them think they're somehow the only corrupt country in the world with lots of corrupt politicians.

I will agree generally with you on this. Yes, a lot of people are, and it's getting worst as our society degrades and degenerates are becoming a much higher percentage of the population. We have a lot to work on, probably as much as any other nation. Our public education program is a jobs program for entitled flops with useless degrees. Like you want to make a comment about the use of effect vs affect but that really doesn't matter. Schools want to make a huge deal about things like that, spelling, and other minor things that don't matter. I remember things like in Social Studies knowing Abe Lincoln's birthday was on the final exam. Most of school work is based on tasking, not thinking, because they want to create a force of worker drones. They want you to be able to learn a skill quickly and be able to do a lot of work, make Mr. Shekelberg lots of money. Our politicians are bought and paid for and it's not even hard because most of them are in long careers and have a hold on the market. Surveys said that most american's think free trade is a great thing and vote yes to it because it sounds nice, but don't realize what it actually does. They vote to help migrants. They believe taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized society. They make fun of their fellow man when their job who was built here, then moves to another country and can freely import their goods back to the US for higher profit margins. Healthcare, they want the working to pay for it all, making us working people pay 3x as much for everything so they can give it to the poor who don't work and pay for the R&D so Canadians and Europeans can get the same meds for 1/4 the price. Our elected officials stand there and let it happen and we should chitcan them for it.

I tend to agree, but our governments imperialism is largely enabled by its relationship with USA now, and the average Brit is painfully aware of that.

I really don't care much though, i'm not in the slightest nationalistic at this point; there is not much to be proud of being British these days (apart from perhaps our sense of humour which i still feel is somewhat unique and misunderstood by many people). Do you not misc? Why would it be a sour relationship? America are effectively the leaders of the West, and so in that pre-eminent position there's no need for a sour relationship to develop, it's only if they feel their superiority is not recognised that the superiority complex surfaces.

Americans bash Europeans and Brits on here all day every day, on the misc the relationship between Americans and Europeansissour. Americans also think that their sports, that only they play, are the greatest sports in the world, and mock the sports the rest of the world play (like 'soccer'), this is all part of the superiority complex.

As for posts, even some of yours bragging about 'humanitarian efforts of USA' in an effort to apparently show you guys don't have a superiority complex, is indicative of a superiority complex. Then there's posts like post 90, which whilst it seems like somewhat of a joke, is pretty normal rhetoric from US brahs. There's others too, but it's not that deep for me to comb through the thread and list each post. This is my opinion and you're welcome to disagree, it is what it is.

Perhaps you need to define the parameters of what you mean by 'superiority complex', because it appears you do not have the same parameters as me. I don't think Americans think that they are racially superior or anything like that to other countries (like Israel do), but American people tend to think that America & its culture far surpasses any other nation to exist. There's a good reason why half the posts in this thread have given the answer 'America', and why a lot of the world have a poor impression of Americans as insufferable.

It seems to me when you made this thread you weren't really asking for opinions, you were asking for a pre-defined answer you have in mind lol.
