There is very likely a First Amendment issue with banning social media. Individual states may be able to exercise their police power to ban dating apps (and Congress could perhaps reach it under interstate commerce but only to the extent people are paying for the apps, which most are probably not), but it would be burdensome to enforce, and there is virtually no political will to do something like that.

His excuse for that is that he doesn't want "gold diggers." First, lots of women are attracted to success and what that signals about a guy, and they aren't just after money and expensive gifts. Second, becoming successful and increasing your income to the point that it substantially overcomes a physical disadvantage like being much shorter than average is far easier than building the political will to overhaul society to address your fringe issue.
