Just LMFAO @ NoTipcels and their "Just pay them more bro" argument.
Gotta be the dumbest argument I ever heard:
"Tipping exists because restaurants don't want to pay their employees"
Absolutely false. With how high food costs are due to number of factors, if restaurants started paying employees more, the price of the food they serve would sky rocket. That delicious $60 Ahi Steak dish I buy at my local seafood restaurant would now be $80. Such lame low IQ excuses by a brunch of brainless nimwits. That's why I'm always tip 20% crew. Don't worry phร ggots, I'll keep tipping 20% so you losers can afford to eat at restaurants.

I tip according to service, it encourages good service. You donโt get a great tip by default though.

Daily reminder, every single state has a minimum wage and if servers tips do not equal that, the establishment is legally responsible to make up the difference.
Food would not cost more if the employer had to pick up the difference. They literally already do.

Over the last 3 years, restaurants have:
1. Increased prices dramatically from the 2010's
2. Lowered the food portions
3. Lowered the food quality
4. Began asking formoretips
So yeah, gtfo.

Will never tip cafe or fast casual crew (Starbucks, Five Guys, etc) Ever
Never tip Uber crew
Only tip restaurants, bars, barber, hotel, etc. basically the classic tip recipients.
I do expect my tenants to tip me with their rent checks though.

Tips are a good way to incentivize great service. Anecdotes on simps and min wage laws donโt change that. Services getting greedy with tips doesnโt change that.
Just tip with discretion, it isnโt rocket science. No need to be black/white autistic about it

I'd rather tips be illegal and food prices go up 15%, srs. Using OP's numbers, if that $60 steak's profit margin increases by $20, and the restaurant serves 20 of them a night, that's $400/night extra they can distribute to the employees for just that one menu item. Add up all the other items' profit margins and it's probably $3k-5k a night extra to distribute to their staff of 20 or whatever. If there's 20 staff then that means $150-250 extra for each of them per night. Assuming 8 hour shift, that's an extra $20-30/hr per person.
If the above happened, then prices are set-in-stone, non-negotiable, customers know exactly what they're spending in totality before they even arrive. Young adults or those down on their luck are more incentivized to work there since they're making WAY above the minimum wage. Employees won't feel like a bad cheap customer is doing them dirty by not tipping. And customers will be treated equally regardless of their chitty attitudes, since the employees don't have to egg them on and seduce them for tips. If customers don't like the food price increases, they can go to Publix and buy a $15 steak theirself.

Youโre right Visel, there are trade offs. Itโs also funny, you never hear feminists crying about sex differences in tips.

tipping is for simps trying to get laid by their waitresses. These b!tches know this and try to flirt their way to a bigger tip. its no different than strippers who pretend they're going to sleep with you just so you put more dollar bills in their g-string.
don't tip. tipping is for simps.
and if you tip a man, you're ghey

I usually tip well, pretty much all the time, but how society bases tips is beyond retarded. The waiter has the EXACT same job, carrying plate A as plate B, but he gets more money for carrying plate A..absolutely ridiculous

waiters have one of the greatest rackets going and no matter how much you raise their wage they will not work w/o tips.
a california restaurant raised their wage to $30/hr with no tipping and it closed as they couldn't retain staff.
waiters can and do make 6 figures on part time hours all the while playing the victim card. it's stunning.

I'm perfectly fine with that money going toward higher menu prices. Pricing out poorcels who were low balling tips anyway would be a benefit.
But we all know the real reason tipcels exist: it's one of the few socially acceptable ways for betas to pay for women's attention.
