Srs question for hockey fans

Do you feel that fighting in the game adds to the game at all as far as the enjoyment factor goes or is it something that should have been done away with a long time ago?

Im.not a hockey fan so It doesn't bother me one way or the other I just always found it odd that in any other sport it gets you banned or suspended but in hockey most people seem to cheer it on..

Please correct me if im.wrong on what I've just said.

Pretty much this. Fighting allows the players to police themselves.

I will say...it has gotten out of hand recently. Players are challenged to fight anytime they throw a big hit, even if it's completely clean. Refs have started giving the instigating team an extra penalty to mitigate this.

Isn't there a fight every game and the referee squares them up?

No to both. Atleast now.

It’s part of the game keeps players honest. I don’t like seeing fights after clean hits though.
