Most of you fking losers wouldn't last a day in the food service industry.

No I'm not talking about Denny's or IHOP but a legit. Casual/casual fine dining restaurant. Imagine having 6 table 4 of them being 5 tops and 2 of them combined making a 10 top. You have to take all their orders, deliver all their drinks, make sure support staff is actually helping and taking their food/filling water. Check on each table every 15-20 minutes. You have to deal with peanut allergies and gluten phàggots. HURR Durr, BuT aLl DeY dO iZ tAkE tHeIr OrDa. If only you frauding incels knew.

Former food tradie checking in.

I was a cook in a pizzeria/Italian restaurant. Mostly a takeout place but there were booths for dine in as well. GOAT work to be honest, it was fun as fuk and it was an adrenaline rush when it got really busy and you're just banging out tickets.

As far as pay and time off goes though.....oh lawd. WOAT gonna WOAT.

When I was younger I always looked down on people in the food service industry. Until I actually knew people that owned restaurants/ and their kids/nieces/nephews work in the industry.


If its a busy place it can be a brutally paced job. Especially if you are delivering good service. If its a normal place and isn't packed its not so hard.

There's only 1 thing that makes a job pay well and it's not how easy/hard the job is.

It's barriers to entry.

That's why pilots get paid $300k

truck drivers get paid $80k

and uber drivers get paid $30k

Exact same set of skills.

When I was in my early 20s I bussed tables for a chitty sushi restaurant for like 4 days then just stopped showing up

It was honestly degrading, now that I'm loaded I always tip heavy. Makes me feel like a big dog
