Anybody feel like money doesn't matter anymore?
It's like pretty much everyone has 6 figure income and a net worth of hundreds of thousands. 18% of boomers are now straight up millionaires (including home equity).

Yeah I agree op. It's odd we still hold money in high regard when a lot of **** out there isn't worth buying. Throw in that a lot of people doing dumb **** get paid for it. If some whore on onlyfans or twitch gets hundreds of thousands for playing games with her tits out, I don't see the value in it and therefore the money that values it has no significance to me, either. I dunno.
All I know is I'm making more money than I need. Everything is going into investments so I won't have to work in the future. That's good, at least

Money definitely matters. Its just a piece of the happiness puzzle though. You need the other pieces to be complete.

It depends.
60% of the US is used to living paycheck to paycheck and not having any type of disposable income. Covid gave these people a taste of some semblance of financial freedom for the first time in their entire lives.
But now, those people are back to having to respect money again, and with 6.5-7% interest rates, that feeling is here to stay. Time to begin respecting money again.

Honestly, 80% of boomers should be millionaires. Anyone who saved even 5% of their salary over the past 50 years should have over $1M in their 401k.
That excludes home equity, pensions, Social Security.
poor boomers have no excuse

I agree about boomers mogging tho, if you're a boomer and not a millionaire, you made some horrible choices

Min wage is what $15 per hour now ? Imagine most of the world lives on less than $1 a day, yes it matters to them.

I feel like it's the opposite OP.
CoL is like $3k/mo for most people who live alone, including in cheaper areas. $4.5k-6k/mo if there's dependents / wife. And that's assuming there's no emergencies or crazy debt payments.
Yeah there's probably more people making 6 figures than ever, but $100k-130k ain't what it used to be. Especially considering most households blow through like $60k/yr post-tax just on CoL alone. That only leaves like $30k/yr post-tax if you make $120k and live somewhere that has ZERO state income taxes.
The value of the dollar is terrible and will keep getting worse. A single dollar barely buys anything anymore. But this is true, or worse, for all other currencies in the world as well.
