Is AllTrails+ any good?

I saw a deal for their subscription service: $18 for one year. Is it any good?

"just use google, bro"

but is the app better at finding good trails and such? For $18 it might be worth it...?

it looks like they have a free version. If I'm the kind of guy who just wants to go on a small hike once in awhile, would it be too much to have a subscription?

I use onX Offroad to find dual sport bike trails. Shows different classes of dirt roads and doesnt require a subscription. But i dont know about hiking. AllTrails does seem pretty popular though.

Yeah that's really the only reason I am looking at this, just because it's the most popular. I'm just looking for a resource for trails. Id be a casual with all this.

Anyone else use AllTrails+?

im sure your goverment has all the information about local trails. they usually provide yearly updated information books/guides/maps

Try the free version first.

+ gives you tracking and logs your hikes. I do like it for trails that are ambiguous since the app will also tell you if you're veering off course.

Oh yeah, biggest feature is offline maps in + version.

I hike a lot in the summer and use it.

It’s pretty not $18. I’ll keep using it.

I'm not sure if there's any reason to actually pay, but AllTrails is an awesome App. I've used it to find trails in like 5 different countries all over the world, and found some great hiking experiences.

Depends how often you use it. I do find it funny how people will casually pay a door dash driver that amount a week to deliver their McChit meal, or pay more than that a month in interest on a car loan for something they dont need, but clutch their wallets if its something they actually use/enjoy. People need to spend more $$$ on their actual interests instead of just buying consumption items that marketing departments tell them they need

I pay for premium Strava account for example. But run and cycle a lot so its worth it to me.
