Is a 90% really the top 1% of all games released ... Hory chit.

It's honestly insane. breaking into a 90 is hard enough, but it gets even harder and more impressive the higher you go.

That's an interesting score considering Tekken 7 only had a 81 avg.

What makes Tekken 8 so much better??

As a tekken 7 player I can tell you a few things I noticed.

1. They went hard into an actual story mode with lots of visuals and cinematics.

2. New mechanics that focus alot on aggression. Imo this makes the matches more exciting to play and watch.

3. Graphics look great this time around, moves feel smooth due to UE5 and hits are very visceral.

3. Arcade Quest mode, Ball mode, Ghost battle and so on that add alot of fun side content.

4. You can view all your online replays, and actually go into them at a point where you made a mistake to play out what you could do different. Crazy.

5. Very beginner friendly with Arcade Quest giving you tons of tips along the way, as well as really in depth lab to practice in.

And of course loading times are so good now. I think the main thing is just that this game doesn't feel as bare bones as T7. It is a much more complete package with more to do than just a VS. screen.

Great points.

Tekken 7 does feel very barebones. Gonna preorder 8 tomorrow.

Srsly FCK Namco with all their DLC bullsh*t, in the past you got ALL characters at launch.

And all other sh*t fighting games are copying their money grabbing tactic.

That's why I didn't like tekken 7. There wasn't chit to the base game and no progression. Seriously what the hell is up with modern gaming and why are people ok with this? I do not want to spend $100 just to play with 20 characters in a fighting game. They are all like this now.

Tekken is different though, well worth the price if you play online (which you should)/ with others, and will be atleast 5+ years until the next one comes out.

I'm fine with it. Base roster is 32 characters. More than enough for anyone to choose from, it will take years to master even one. You're getting your $70 worth in Tekken 8.

Only reason you will need the DLC is if you're playing seriously online and need to practice against all the characters. In that case you're paying the company a small subscription to continue adding new content and characters which will keep the game fresh by changing things up. Would be boring if they just never update the game for the next decade.
