MAGA would rather the border stay insecure to continue faulting Biden

Why am I not surprised? I knew Trump didn't care about this country. I'm starting to believe his followers don't either. They care about Trump, and that's it.

Your so called RINOs want to strike a deal that helps with the border crisis yet MAGA wants to strike it down cause they'd rather progress their agenda than make progression with the border.

Please reflect on what you lot have become.

The left doesn’t want a border deal. Their proposal includes allowing 5k illegals in a day and no wall.

The left just wants more money for Ukraine, what they have offered for the border is laughably inadequate to the point of insulting the American people.

Anyone accepting the deal is a traitor

Very bad for Trump to do this

But at the same time - Biden and his Dems in Congress knew that getting these kind of bills would be difficult as they got closer to the election. It's not like immigration is a new issue. Why didn't they get this border security bill passed last year

I didn't realize that "conservatives" were President.

Biden could make one phone call and have the border secured.
And unlike Trump, he won't face a million court challenges when he does it.

This is a good point. Biden could change this today if he wanted to, but he has no interest in doing so. He’s also trying to leverage the situation for Ukraine money with no intention at all of actual fixing the border

They're reconsidering the screening process for seeking asylum and are restricting asylum laws. Is that not progress?

Does it matter why they do it if there's potential to accomplish it? You're looking at this like it's a democrats vs Republicans thing without considering what's best for the U.S. Investing too much into the drama of U.S. political theater does that to you.

So all it takes is one phone call to secure the border and not a dozen billion dollars to build a wall.

The bill would allow them to turn away asylum requests after 3,000-5,000 encounters per day.

That would still amount to over a million migrants per year.

Just lol.

I don’t think you understand how this country works. The states do not need any permission whatsoever to secure their own border. When the Federal fails to secure the border, the States have the Constitutional right & duty to secure theirs. No “deal” has to be made, this is in our Constitution & in every single state constitution. States usurp power to the Federal, when the Federal fails at their duties the state has the power.

Always knew it, now that I think about it. Border secured means no more bitching about Biden not securing the border: huge loss for MAGA despite a homerun for America.

Not that hard.

They aren’t trying to make progress you smooth brained twat, if that was the case, then why would they try to prevent Texas in performing their Constitutional right to secure its border?

Article I, Section 10, Clause 3, which stipulates that, “No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, UNLESS actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit DELAY.”

Good. I don’t mind it srs. There’s a 50/50 chance the economy actually booms this year (somehow wtf) and Biden likely gets credit for it. If he closes the border too, that will make Trump’s campaign more difficult. Sometimes you have to make a political chess move. Short term pain for long term gain. Don’t fool yourself into thinking Biden wants to finally do the right thing. He simply wants to win an election. He’s desperate.

lol but they aren’t. They are breadcrumbing the American public on what polls say is voters most important election issue, so we can keep the unlimited funding heading to Ukraine.

KJP even said the administration isn’t interested in discussing the border, they are focused on Ukraine.

Agreeing to only allow 5k illegals a day is some big win for you? lol TDS is a helluva drug

First sentence of the article:

A bipartisan deal that would pair assistance to Ukraine and Israel with measures to improve border security is facing serious political threats as negotiators aim to finalize a deal.

You’re disingenuous to act like this is a border negotiation. It’s about money for foreign countries, with democrats throwing completely inadequate border concessions as a way to try and get the foreign war money they so badly want.

If the people you so ardently support were serious about border security, it would be its own bill that focuses on the 900 miles of wall needed and cutting off illegals completely or at least having that as the goal (not 5k a day lol).

Democrats wanted this, and they got it. Now it’s election time and politically disadvantageous, so they’re pivoting and of course going back to well of blaming trump. It’s pathetic

lol, no putting a law on the books that says, “ok illegals are now illegal again, but only starting on illegal 5001 and on each day the rest are welcome to violate American national sovereignty” is by no means progress, wtf?
