I got an email this morning saying some people on the floor can't get the ERP system to work and that there is all this work that I will need to scan in again. A literal pile of parts I will need to scan into the system. They tried to give me a description of what happened and took pictures of the screen and all.




Turns out they just busted the Ethernet cable and they had no network connection. The error code they showed me even said no network connection. Yeah that icon in the corner with the red X. Might want to check that out, huh?

And these are primarily young people who were raised on screens, right? It makes me think a ton of people are stuck on their phones and never bothered to learn about PCs.

Is there hope that some of us who know basic IT can have a lucrative career on the future? We could make six figures telling people "try restarting the computer" then you have to actually show them how to restart a PC. I could teach a class on how to copy and paste cells in Excel and make a fukton of money

Most Gen Xers struggle with computers. Christ my bimbo saleslady sucks with computers. I told her last week that everybody can see her calendar in Outlook, and she was shocked by that.

Lol seriously? I think my organization defaults to hiding calendars. I had to go in and manually have mine displayed for my manager

It's definitely interesting to see gen-x'ers (should be young enough to be at least okay with computers based strictly on when they were born) do stuff like hunting and pecking, not knowing how to install a printer, and other basic stuff. It's a bit more understandable for boomers.

They still have to add your calendar to view it, but by default your calendar is wide open.

I feel I didn't stress enough that the people I described in my OP are all 20-somethings.

I'm a late 30s boomer and I used to be good at computers in the 90s and early 2000s, and I find that nowadays that UX designers model everything off smartphones with gigantic icons and made everything retard mode for the lowest common denominator consoomer, I don't know how to do anything anymore and can't be arsed to learn how.

Probably had planned parenthood appts every few months or so and a record of her tinder dates.
