Wtf @ Red Robin

Went to Red Robin yesterday, ordered a burger and bottomless steak fries.
They bring my food out and the plate of fries is tiny as fuk.
I finish the fries quickly and ask for a refill.
Guy brings me a basket of the same number of fries as before
I finish those quickly, finish the burger
He asks me if I want more fries in a to-go box.

Wtf I guess in gay restaurant times with gay inflation they would skimp on portions like Subway does BUT they are obviously obligated to bring you more if you ask for them THEN they ask me if I want more fries to take home with me.

I mean wtf is the point? To be fair I should have ordered sweet potato fries instead

Red Robin has been chit forever. I remember before Covid my bro and I used to grab food after the gym. One time we went to Five Guys and it was like $12 for a hnnng burger and fries. The next day we went to Red Robin and paid $20 for a disgusting piece of trash burger. Never went back after that.

I thought my burger was good. Five Guys is good but I can make burgers like those at home. Homemade burgers are better than Red Robin tho.

But yeah last I heard Five Guys was like $20 or above now. My burger and fries and drink at Red Robin was $25. Still a dumbass price for a burger and fries no matter what, obviously. **** is getting egregious out here

its called a gimmick. Bottomless fries are already priced in, and they aren't truly bottomless ,they just make you think they are. Same with all you can eat wings... same with bars that have popcorn makers... that's so you eat a chit ton of salt, get thirsty, and drink more. Popcorn costs pennies, bar is making several dollars off you your every beverage. Capitalism at its finest.

You’d be surprised how much they probably save with that tactic. Lots of people are probably just too timid to keep asking for fries so they get cucked. Others may ask for one refill but feel self-conscious about asking for more, even if the portions are tiny. For the rest, it gives time for your stomach signals to catch up and tell your brain it’s full. Not a bad strategy, but I bet the servers hate it due to more trips and more complaints. CEOs win again.

Also, surprised at all the Red Robin hate here. Haven’t been in a few years but I always loved it. Will suck if the pandemic wrecked them as well.

Yup. And fries cost nothing. It's a great gimmick.

Well I wouldn’t go so far as to say they cost nothing I mean you put a basket or two down in front of a HTC lady and you’re basically setting a date with the plunger and an absolutely revolting dung dolphin in the bathroom for the remainder of the evening

Yeah I think it's good. The only burger places near my work are Red Robin and McDonard's. It gets the job done if the job is to eat a good burger.

Strange. The one near me rocks your socks. It's my go-to when I'm drunk and need a juicy burger delivered. Their french fry chips are awesome.

I got a giant bag of fries at walmart and cooked them at home. Cost me like $3.50 or something like that at the most.

Yeah about $20 for what I got.

tbh not sure why people are chiming in about how they spent less getting something somewhere else. My point was they were skimping on the portions but you could order as many as you wanted, so... wtf.

Islands also used to do the AYCE fries before covid, but now I think Red Robin is the only place that still does it.
