I recently started listening to vinyl records…

Have a proper Fluance turntable setup with speakers, why haven’t I gotten into this sooner. The music quality is leagues superior compared to listening to compressed audio through YouTube or MP3 on TV or tiny iPhone speakers.

I played a live Motörhead album and it actually sounded like I was at the concert venue this is actually crazy the perceived depth of sound is astounding.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

personally i dont hear much difference especially with todays mastering. even small shows sound amazing on youtube.

I’m at work right now, I’m still waiting on a turntable stand to be delivered to my house but I’ll upload a pic later today

I’m running a Fluance RT80 and Ai41 speakers

I’m largely used to listening to music on TV, my iPhone, or laptop speakers, so the overall experience is quite striking to me compared to those.

I’m sure with advancements in modern technology digital music can probably sound as good if not better than vinyl it just depends on a person’s setup

But I will say the experience of handling vinyl and hearing the needle gently drop is pretty cool mane

I love Vinyl. I wish my albums from the 80's had made it. They got warped from being in storage for so long.

Yeah I just got into it recently also. It's really dope but I don't think the quality is better than lossless from tidal

But either way something about it is still more satisfying to listen to. Especially for older music. It's just the way you should hear it.

I have inherited alot of old amazing records from my gfs dad. He's a big record nerd so when I told him I got one he gave me a fuk ton of records.

I have the entry level audio technica lp60 or something. Maybe a higher quality record player would do me better.

I move it between my office and living room sometimes. Office has a pair of klipshe bookshelf speakers and a sub powered from a hybrid tube amp. living room has two klipshe tower speakers (well it's a dolby atmos setup for movies and obv the record player is only stereo) I run thru my denon reciever.

You should get a vintage amp / receiver from the 70s.

Recently saw all these Marantz receivers from the 70s that were restored. So cool with the silver metal faces and blue lights, sound amazing as well

oh yeah for sure. ive almost always had a bookshelf speaker setup hooked up to my computer tho. plus i got a 1000 watt sony (350 watt 6 inch sub) 5.1 surround sound system too. enjoy. music is the best man

Good job boyo, repped.

I love listening to older vinyl records. Also fun to go out on a saturday or sunday morning, grab a cup of coffee, and check out record shops. You never know what you will get. The more society runs into technology, the more rewarding it is to retread from it.

We only have a single TV in our house, and not one on the main floor. Playing records, turning the fireplace on, reading a book or enjoying a cocktail is a nice way to end an evening

My turntable has a built in preamp, and the speakers are powered. But this a lower end setup it sounds pretty damn good though. I’m sure I’ll upgrade the speakers and stuff eventually.

I listen to a lot of rock and metal, they put out a rerelease of Television’s Marquee Moon recently.

I got it delivered last night it was pure bliss

Took over my dad’s vinyl collection like a decade ago and just got my setup proper this last year.

I also find I listen to a lot of great songs that I just wouldn’t put on if I was using an online library.

Using kef ls50 powered speakers and a Rega planar 3. Forgot which preamp I went with and a kef kube

One thing I like about vinyl is that you listen to a whole record in its entirety with no break

You could of course do the same with digital but the experience of a whole record spinning is a lot more personal in my experience

You know you are old when this has.come full circle. Even though it's been 40 years can remember the big CD boom of everyone saying the audio quality was so much better than vinyl.

Now it's back to vinyl being better.

I don't miss replacing needles on a record player or trying to fit those yellow round things inside a .45.

I do prefer vinyl though over cds.

My friend is a bit of a traditionalist and will seem to die on the hill that vinyl is absolutely better than digital no matter what

I’m a bit more open minded and don’t necessarily agree, I think digital can sound good if not better marginally

In my case I think I’m more so just impressed by the sound quality of a proper setup and the overall experience of handling and having vinyl
