I think you, and many lefties here, are really missing a key point because you are so blinded by hate. No one ever talks about this. U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled in2024 that Trump defamed Carroll by saying in 2019that he had never met her and that her book, in which she accused him of having raped her in the dressing room of a luxury department store in the mid-1990s, “should be sold in the fiction section.”

So just to be clear. This judge ruled he 'defamed' her from something he said in 2019, or in other words 4 years before they even had a trial determining whether he wascivilly guiltyof raping her. (the jury did not)

How can you defame someone in 2019 based on a ruling from the court that occurred in 2023? You can't. That is not legal. You can't retroactively commit defamation based on a claim that was not considered defamatory until after a jury verdict 4 years later.

On top of that look at his actual words that he got sued for. That he had never met her, no recollection of her, and that she should write a book for the fiction section of a book store. That is defamation? $83 M of defamation? I don't know a man in the world, especially if they are innocent, who wouldn't say something similar to the effect of "this woman is crazy and I never did it".

Basically all this ruling says is you can't deny committing a crime. That if you get accused of one, you have to either stay silent or just admit to it because otherwise if you are found guilty at a trial 4 years later, either civilly or criminally, you can be sued and retroactively have to pay for defamation. It is completely ridiculous.

Add in the fact that there is no way he did $83 M of damage to her and that the law was changed AFTER this all started that allowed her to sue in the first place? This was a witch hunt. A political witch hunt to try and eliminate a Presidential candidate from running for office.

A federal judge? He isn't anywhere close to having the qualifications to be a Federal Judge. He is basically a hit man hired to take out Donald Trump.

I am not a huge fan of Trump. If the right could get someone into office like a DeSantis I would love that. I think Trump is a narcissist ego maniac with a potty mouth...similar to sillie.
