When people talk about black pregnant women dying at higher rates than pregnant white women, keep in mindthe #1 cause of their deaths is homicideby a large margin. It isn't the fake specter of healthcare racism, it's homicide. Black pregnant women are 8x as likely to be killed by their intimate partner than non-pregnant black women.

On average higher blood pressure and obesity doesn't help. But like the research shows their #1 cause of death is homicide, by a large margin. Home conditions are more stressful and black pregnant women are probably less likely to call the cops because they're afraid their baby daddy will get put away, assuring they'll be on their own when the baby is born (instead of months later, let's be honest).

We can all use whatever numbers that we want if we are not current( recent data) with a large enough sample size.

The congresswoman is talking about domestic violence in general that black women face. Where I mentioned black pregnant women being killed by their baby daddies it's a specific subset of domestic violence. The scary part is that black women in general face domestic violence at higher rates, so if black pregnant women are killed at 8x the rate of other black women that's even scarier. I'm not even trying to do some "black people are bad" point. Such relationships face unique challenges and financial stresses, and if we're honest there's a higher chance the black mother and black father in such a situation were less committed to each other when they made the baby.

The point of me mentioning so was to show how rates of pregnancy (and postpartum) deaths by race are skewed and cited wrongly as proof of racism by healthcare workers.

Here's anotherstudy from 2022that was covered byCNNto boot, and there are many others if you just search up homicide being the leading cause of death for pregnant women.Here's another from the Washington Postwith the finding that homicide was the leading cause of death for pregnant or postpartum women, with black women most at risk.

Unless the source leaves out race entirely, they all come to similar conclusions placing black women as the highest risk of pregnant or postpartum homicide, so you put two and two together. Even the congressional dipshít knows bloody well who, but playing the race card trumps legal, cultural, and societal accountability to these loons.

That's terrible. I had to look up the story and of course the 'media' makes sure to prominently display this:

He said the case highlighted the higher rates of infant and maternal mortality for Black women.


The link within the article is cancer, written by an angry black lady

Her experience is a reflection of the medical racism, bias and inattentive care that Black Americans endure.




Sersiouly, the media is so fkn sickening. They're making this sad story about race when white people weren't involved at any point in the hospital or the city. It's sickening.

In an 82% black city
with all black leadership in that city
