Why doesn’t the UK just ban acid??

I don’t get it. Imagine having to live your life in fear of having acid thrown in you….meanwhile all the other first world countries don’t have to deal with that craziness. Seems like such an easy solution, yet here we are in 2024 having to hear about all these poor people having acid thrown on them. Just sad really.

Seriously hardly anybody in the UK has to worry. This isn't a regular occurrence & when it does happen it is nearly always in certain ares of London & people from the subcontinent doing it to other people from the subcontinent-the UK is still something like 82-83% white. It is even less likely to happen than having somebody shoot you outside of certain areas of London & a few other big metropolitan areas.

The only cases involving white people that spring to mind is when Arthur Collins(dated some reality tv bimbo) & his idiot friends got into some altercation at a nightclub several years back & threw acid at somebody-he was a criminal who worked with a notorious crime gang & Katie Piper-who had a black ex partner who disfigured her with it. White on white acid attacks are really not a thing here.

Where I live & indeed most of the UK you will likely never have an acid attack in your area, or see a working gun if you live to be 100.
