I tried persona 5 and thought it was boring as fk though, and I gave it a decent 5+ hour try and did the first real dungeon

Top 1%. It’s not an even distribution. I made a review thread for it yesterday

Just launched a few hours ago, grinding through the first couple of hours because it takes a while to adjust to a slow paced epg after action games but seems more of what I loved about P5 so far so good.

Loved p4 but felt Persona 5 was just such a massive upgrade gameplay wise.. that it might be hard for me to get into Persona 3

Is it more a reskin of an old game?

Or more? i.e Persona 5 with Persona 3 story

It's aremaketo make P3 fall more in line with P5.

I'm not sure of specific changes, but it is a remake afterall and it's currently rated extremely high, so you have your answer.

Of course, there are still going to be some stuff that wont hold up to P5 since it being an older game, but this is probably the best way to experience P3 if you havnt played it yet.

Of course it is. It's motherfukking Persona. Listening to full moon full life right now.

Haven't touched it yet, and haven't watched the gameplay. I'm curious as to how they do Tartarus in this. No way they do the procedurally generated thing in this one.

Got bad newz, still is procedurally generated.

I started it yesterday. Well made and will be fun but man the persona games might be TOO alike. I loved 5 and it was my first one so everything was new, but played a bit of 4 and now 3 and in many ways they're all the same game.

Really hope persona 6 freshens it up

I went 5,4,3. I think 5 was a huge change up. Sure, they have similar elements, but it's a new story every time, and the story is pretty much the best part in all of them imo. As good as 5 was, I think 4 had my favorite group because they all felt like real friends.

The stories are all distinct with different vibes I like that for sure. Heard it described pretty well, 5 has an Oceans 11 vibe , 4 scooby doo, 3 Buffy the vampire slayer.

But even within that, a lot of the characters are a little too similar. like there's always the hot girl you meet early on and the goofy slacker bro.

They fill certain archetypes without being carbon copies of each other. I didn't play 1 and 2 yet, but 3,4,5 all felt distinct. Yeah, you've got the bro and the ht girl, but then you have the wild cards like Kanji, Yusuke, Akihiko, etc..

4 was my first, back in the Vita days. I'd heard about how great it was, booted it up and got bored about an hour into it (not realizing how looong the opening was). Put it down and forgot about it, did pick it up years later and powered through it. I ended up enjoying it, although I think I only got about 1/2 through it.

5 has never clicked with me. Maybe someday I'll go deeper w/ it.

I just got 3 and so far I'm liking it, I just started. I think some of my problem with 4 was trying to max out every social link and having the usual obsession with completing games. I'm going to try to just ignore that and just do whatever, when I miss a ton of chit, who cares.

It's a full on remake, very similar to P5 maybe just slightly less options and things.

I'd love a p4 remake like this with full 4k graphics and all that, p4 is still great though but it's a 16 year old game and IT looks like it.

I did enjoy Persona 4, it's just so long. Also pretty repetitive. I don't regret getting it, I think it was under $20 at the time for Vita download, I got that out of it.

I will say, so far P3R is defying the odds: Still playing it.

Something about it seems more approachable than Persona 5, which keep in mind I say as someone who did not play much or that game and am probably very ignorant. I just felt getting into it, too much was going on, too busy, etc... I'm an outlier in that, I often avoid large open world games and tend to prefer a more railroad approach, I know most gamers do not share that.

Im finding it a watered down version of P5R. Honestly, I dont like any of the characters so far.

They'll grow on you. Junpei is my favorite, and Yukari is way more interesting than Ann imo.

No one will ever match the Kanji energy from 4 though.
