The whole 59.5 thing is the price you pay for tax sheltering your money. Plus its a good thing considering most people are mentally ill when it comes to money and need a locked gate between them and not starving in their 70's. Go talk to some 70 year olds on government fixed incomes because they didn't believe in a 401k or IRA, hint...you wont find them in the Villages playing pickle ball buzzed on old fashions at 11am.

Also that guy has reddit energy and when his fat co host yawned I almost flipped my laptop, yawning on air is cancer to peoples viewing experience.

VTSMX is literally all anyone needs until their 50's. Then re-evaluate for risk tolerance/retirement timeline.

Load up your 401k , you can access it before 59 if you choose to retire.

Or just have that be portion of your wealth, and then use a brokerage account/savings to cover you if you retire early

401k haters are too simplified. But do agree to an extent that you shouldnt just live frugally for it to pay off in your 60s. Look at Toby Keith for example.
