Lettuce beef real tea - Limp Bizkit is pretty gimmicky, cringey, and outdated, but it still represented an all-important gateway into the overarching world of metal for me as a kid, so they were technically an important band in the development of my musical palette. Their guitarist Wes Borland is a really inventive and creative songwriter.

Still got my Significant Other tape I got in elementary school listening to break stuff on my walkman thinking I was a hard little kunt.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*

*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*

Everyone is introduced to rock/metal differently. I was born in 1980, I believe I was introduced to metal/rock and roll through Quiet Riot, and Twisted Sister when I was a kid.

I was a kid in the 90s and mostly had access to radio. Those bands came about later on but nu-metal just happened to be the heavy music one could hear on pop radio at the time. Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Linkin Park were my introduction to heavy music. Guns n Roses was there too but it's not necessarily 'metal' in nature.

Hell yeah brother, two of the first concerts I ever went to when I was 14,15 were Family Values 98 with Korn, Limp Biskit, Rammstein. And the Devil Without a Cause Tour with Kid Rock and Limp Biskit in 99, a couple weeks before the woodstock incident.

I don't listen to that kind of music anymore but I can see how the family values tour could have been so much fun to attend in the 90s.

Limp Bizkit > Linkin Park >>>>> Rage Against the Machine > P.O.D. > Crazy Town

Limp Bizkit was self-deprecating, didn't seem to take themselves seriously at all, just having fun. I can dig it. Varied up their sound a lot, surprisingly.

Linkin Park had a cool blend of different things, but were emo as fuark. They switched things up, samples and pianos and all kinds of stuff. Kept it interesting, at least. Great puberty angst music.

Rage Against the Machine are insufferable commies. Every song sounds exactly the same.

P.O.D., Crazy Town, and all the other rap rock bands didn't make nearly as much impact as the other three. Body Count doesn't fit with these, it has it's own vibes. And Beastie Boys is better than all of these.

I admire the fact the festival promoters told him to tone it down for everyone's safety, and he basically took that as an invite to start a riot.
