What is so bad about living in car? Save money on rent

Been seriously considering this lately. Don’t need to pay rent and utilities. That’s $1400 a month saved.

Only way to get ahead. I don’t need all this space. I am a FA and never have company anyway.

Everything I buy is a waste of money anyway. I need to live frugally by living in my car. Has everything I need right here. Warmth, shelter. What more do I need? Srs

I’m planning on doing this when my rent is supposed to renew this year. The only problem is my parents will most likely have a stroke or try to have me committed.

If you're gonna go full isolation at least trade up to a van. You could actually lay comfortably and joggers don't steal vans.

The only problem is that all the decent-paying jobs are usually white-collar corporate jobs, and imagine leaving the address field blank when completing the employee onboarding process.

If you want to go this route, you'd either first have to get a high-paying corporate job or a high-paying oil worker job.

Then get yourself a membership to a 24 hour gym so you have access to a toilet and shower.

Then take on as much overtime as you can or a 2nd job to keep yourself occupied while you accumulate cash.

A few years ago I'd say you'd accumulate enough savings to be out of this situation within a year, now I'd say you need at least 2.5 years of doing this just to escape.

The window of opportunity to acquire wealth gets smaller every year, I'm afraid.
Everything I post is satire.

I wouldn’t park in the city and I’ve never had my car stolen before.

I’m not retarded, just deeply mentally ill. Would never subject myself to being around dingers.

Bro I am beyond last resort, considering what I’ve been through in the last 3 years it’s a miracle I’m even walking around.

I need to do something drastic. I am not trolling either. I can’t keep doing this any longer. I need to be free: I am trapped. This is unacceptable. It’s unbearable. I am miserable. I can’t keep doing this. Like, I SERIOUSLY CANT KEEP DOING THIS. This is not the life for me.

Maybe a cabin in the woods, hunting, fishing, a wood stove is the right direction for you.

Where would you park?

I could understand possibly doing this through mild to cold weather, but I couldn't fathom doing it in the summer without AC. What are your thoughts on that?

Get a cheap gym membership for showers.

Sleeping in your car far and away stupidest trend to come out lately.

No question about it, It tops the list. Shelter is one of the primary needs of any species. Willingly denying yourself it to save a few bucks makes no sense.

If you cant figure out the obvious reasons then by all means, sleep in your car all winter. Then come back and let us know how it right we were.

Not just unsafe, unsanitary and uncomfortable, a nomadic lifestyle like that is inherently more wasteful. The food and toilet situations are enough to make it a no for most sane people.

I agree with this

Like why would anybody say " to save money I'll live in my car" when paying for a legitimate roof over your head is about as basic as it gets

Worry about saving $ when your basic needs are met

-In your downtime what would you even do? Just sit in the car?
-What if its summer and 95 degrees outside? Are you just going to burn up an entire tank of gas to keep the AC on?
-Where are you going to park?
-what if your car breaks down? You take it to the shop and they need to keep it overnight to finish repairs?

There are waaaay too many chitty variables and scenarios that makes living in a car a horrendous idea.

Never shrink down in front of challenges. Always expand, think of how to make it happen

Figure out a way to make more money, srs. I know it sounds stupidly simple but it really is stupidly simple just not easy

Living in a car sucks ass I’ve had to spend a couple days at a time multiple times in my car. Gets old QUICK

Wouldn't it be better to just get some roommates? At least you'd have access to a bathroom and bed and heating/cooling

Or at the very least, buy a little plot of land and build a shack on it

Get a van like some other dude said. Your ganna hate sleeping in a car. I’d move back with parents. Or get a camper and move back with parents and post up in the back yard.

If you want to live in a car, you have to do it right.
