wtf blue LEDs were invented only 30 years ago

and it was really, really, really hard to invent

blue light emitting diode, which completes the B in RBG

tiny cheap resistors that we all take for granted and think is some pleb normal thing. RBG this and that is everwhere now.

invetor won a nobel prize 10 years ago for his invention of a blue LED

I do not understand how average folk can even stand LED lighting in their homes, it’s absolute trash.

I’m in the UK and It’s illegal here now to have incandescents but I just buy them off of eBay.

That is so cool didn't realize it was so hard to complete for RGB. I was looking at some devices requiring green LED and some offered it in blue LED like 10 years back.

I remember hearing/reading about this too. It's pretty cool. Apparently ballpoint pens were difficult to crack for the Chinese too, at least according to a random youtube video I watched, in the spirit of things that don't seem as complex as they are.

What the LED industry has done to the glass lighting industry was just wrong.

Actually I thought about visiting some of the remaining glass lighting factories around the US and talk to the CEO's about keeping the tech alive.
