Massachusetts keeps taking fuking tax from me

I work remotely from NH for a Massachusetts company, I put tax district to New Hampshire on my payroll as I saw this was a new option in the online payroll and I was hoping to finally be free from Massachusetts taxes and I just got my check and Massachusetts is still taking fuking money from me. How the fuk do I escape that dyke bitch governor from taking my money and giving it to illegal alien scum?

Its called Taxachusetts for a reason, bud. Just be grateful your money is being sent to Israel and Ukraine on the federal level, and to buy homes and pay for everything for Shaneeqkwa and Paco locally

The state is not taking it from you
Your company is taking it from you
They are collecting it from you and giving it to the MA DOR
The issue is with your company and you should be calling the NH attorney general office if they do not fix it and refund you
This is very important to NH right now because they are trying to get more remote workers into NH making higher MA wages so they will defend you

Either you talk to the person in payroll about why they're stupid or you have to make a couple of phone calls to the MA Department of Revenue. You'll get your money back eventually. I'm thinking Thanksgiving or so.

Repped, every time I contact HR they say since the office is in Massachusetts they have to take Massachusetts taxes. I don't want to get on my companies bad side and get laid off or something but I might drop an anonymous tip to the AG

Pretty sure you have to pay those taxes boyo and file a MA non-resident tax return.

Mass is great at going after the tax dodgers. If you live in MA and buy a car in NH (no sales tax) you still have to pay sales tax to the registry

So rekt

LMAO

If you intervene you can get your money back. It will likely take 5-6 months from the time they realize the mistake made to get refunded. In the meantime plenty of bureaucracy will get in the way. Fill out this form, call this number, fill out this other form, email it over, hope someone looks at it in the following weeks. Thanksgiving was a bit of an exaggeration to mock govt mismanagement. If you take the right steps more like Labor Day. Better than waiting until another year from now, unless you're cool with deferring your money back until then.

After some light googling it appears like there’s a “telecommuter rule” basically saying even though you work in NH physically, MA considers it like you work in an office in MA (Massachusetts is saying you EARNED the money there instead of NH). And since you earned it in MA you owe state taxes on it. Normally with most states you can get a deduction for taxes paid but since NH doesn’t have income taxes so obviously that doesn’t matter. I’m assuming they did this because MA sucks azz and they don’t want to. Maybe see if you can get a deduction (or maybe a credit) from MA for the local taxes paid to NH (I am assuming this like some city income tax).

Not researching this but if true, rekt OP.

If you are a MA resident you even have to pay an excise tax on your car yearly, it's a property tax. LMAO

These pheggorts are relentless and I'm not surprised at all.

It's weird tho because my girlfriend works remote from nh for a mass company and her company fixed it for her and she gets an additional $350 per month now so this is why I'm confused between what you said here and what her HR did

You generally have to prove your residence in another state.

Are you registered to vote in NH? Can you demonstrate spending more than 180 days per year there?

If so, you need to send these items to payroll at your company and make them change it.

Yes registered to vote in NH , I moved here 4 months ago from MA so last year I got screwed with the tax but I am hoping this next season it will be different because I will be full time resident in NH and physically working in NH

Blue states are aggressive with taxing. It was troublesome for a company i worked for, having workers in blue California and New Jersey and dealing with those states tax system.

I don't have advice to give, but it is a good question to ask a tax accountant. the accountant I have used, who was the old companies accountant also, would likely change a few hundred dollars to let me know what can and can not be done in a situation like that.

I worked on the CT border for a shop, and we had almost a third of the guys living in MA. They were getting taxed in both states. Brutal.

OP thank you for your civic duty and paying more towards wars and illegal migration.

All jokes aside, I hope there's a loophole for you.
