I will teach you how to make exact Movie Theater Popcorn at home.
So i've always loved movie theater popcorn and anytime i go see a movie in the dying form of theater i would always have to spend the insane $10 for a cheap as fuk bag of popcorn because it was always so good the way that make it. It just adds so much to the experience. So a while ago i had a random thought and looked into it. So another thing to mention, is chips and snacks are expensive as fuk these days and filled with **** ass ingredients. Popcorn is literally just a whole grain corn, extra flavor will be a healthy fat source. It's a cheap snack that is good AF. This tastes far better than those expensive popcorn bags that lie to you and taste bland AF. And once you get the ingredients this will last forever and pay for itself because you don't need to go buy Doritos etc.
So i've done research and theres a lot of popcorn enthusiast and there's some different variations they use. I'll show you one of them i'm using that i find matches what i already think is perfect.
So first what to buy. Basically most of these theaters use a product called Flavacol. It's a fine powdery buttery flavored salt. And then of course you have your oil. It can very between theaters but try a buttery coconut oil. It's what i use and i find it perfect. It smells, and tastes exactly like the "butter" in the majority of theaters. Now the Kernel, so there's different ones and brands. White, yellow, popcorn. Some people prefer the white kernels, some like the texture of the "Mushroom" kernel, but the general consensus is orville knows what he's doing. And his yellow kernels are always a good pick
Flavacol

Buttery flavored Coconut Oil
https://www.amazon.com/Dutchmans-Pop...ps%2C94&sr=8-5
Ghee (clarified butter) is great to use as well. You can melt 3 tbs and use it as a topper by itself, and I also melt 2tbs ghee/2tbs buttery cocunut oil and brush it on. The combination gives it a great flavor.
https://www.amazon.com/4th-Heart-Pas...s%2C329&sr=8-3
Kernals
https://www.amazon.com/Amish-Country...Y2hfYXRm&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/Orville-Reden...ps%2C99&sr=8-1
So you have the ingredients. Now you might think you don't have the tools to make it but you just need a pot.
Something this size random link just for reference.
https://www.amazon.com/IMUSA-CHI-000...%2C114&sr=8-26
Pour 3 TBS of the coconut oil and put heat on high and let it melt.
Put two kernals a part in the oil. Let the oil heat until both pop, turn the heat off and take the kernels out.
Add 1/2 cup kernals, and sprinkle 1/2 tsp flavacol on the kernels. Shake let them get covered in the already hot oil. This help will help allow them to pop closer together, so nothing gets burnt.
Let them stand for 30 sec-1 min in the hot oil.
Put it back on high and wait for them to start popping and shake the pan a bit until all are popped.
Melt 3tbs buttery coconut oil and add 1/4 tsp flavacol to the oil if you feel it needs to be more salty. However using the original 1/2 tsp at the beginning to pop the kernels may be enough, but just keep it mind too much flavacol can completely ruin the popcorn. You can buy a spayer or use something like a pastry brush. brush it in the oil, stroke it on the top layer of popcorn, and then shake the popcorn and repeat, so all of the popcorn is nice and yellow showing you applied the oil/flavacol to all the popcorn.
To replace the pot, this is a good purchase. it will keep the kernels circulating, it's a deeper pot, and you don't need to shake.

I made popcorn for 5 years at a movie theater. We always add the flavacol type salt to the oil at the same time as the kernals

Back in the 2000s, i spent a year buying all sorts of popcorn salts and seasonings. They all sucked. I mostly tried butter salts, to try and emulate the one I grew up on. NONE OF THEM got anywhere close to the GOAT. Dollar Stores used to sell this, but now its impossible to find.
In 2010 I literally bought an entire case of the fukcing things, just so I could get a single bottle. Thats how good this stuff is. I still have a few bottles left 15 years later, and flavor is still just as good as brand new.
I HIGHLY recommend finding the "Spice Supreme" "popcorn salt".

It is so great, that I put this stuff on frozen veggies (heated up of course), Put it on popcorn (duh) on potatoes, pretty much any food you would put both salt and butter on, I use this instead. SRS. No other brand or knockoff is close to how amazing this exact salt is.
It looks like Amazon has it, with a slightly different color label. I cannot guarantee it tastes identical, but for $2, I'd say give it a try. You will NEVER use any other salt on your popcorn, or veggies....

I refuse to use anything else. Don't even know what movie flavor is, as I've maybe had theater popcorn once in my life.

And the first time I made it I sprinkled flavacol on the finished popcorn, but the last time I made it I liked the idea of adding 1/4 tsp flavacol to the oil afterwards and brushing it on, so I added that. Just pouring the flavacol on by itself won’t get on much of the popcorn definitely seems always best to add it to the oil.

Just got some ghee to try for it (clarified butter)
I melt on the stove 2tbs ghee/2tbs buttery coconut oil, then use a brush to brush it on the popcorn, shake the popcorn, then repeat the brushing process. Gives a really nice flavor together.

Yeah apparently there’s many types of different kernels and ways to grow this. I guess think like weed, kratom etc.
I like the “ladyfinger” one in the variety pack.

I'll stick with my spice supreme.
Try and find just a single bottle, now a 12pack, as I'm still using up the 12pack I bought in 2012 or whenever.
