Descendants of the 1776 patriots… aren’t more American?

Question for libs, if your direct family line is of a grandfather who fought in the revolutionary war, are you more American than those that came 60 years ago?

Could I or someone else go to Ireland, have kids and my kids say they’re Irish. And people would scream they’re from here originally and have no legacy?

I’m curious how it works in the US. Seems hypocritical

Traced back and I have ancestors that came here to kill natives in the late 1600's and some that fought the Brits in the revolution. srs. Some on both sides of the civil war.

American is more of a set of values than it is a race. The whole idea of give us your poor, etc.. is outdated, the global landscape has changed significantly since WW2.

It's really about assimilation.. For example, if you were an assimilated 1st generation American, you'd be American no more or less than someone who has longer roots, not just a US citizen that attained citizenship that sits around leeching off the system. (Leonydus,Zelensky,theory816, etc)

When it started, sure. But then the people that came here.....procreated.

A nation begets a race no matter what. You cannot factually counter this.

But shouldn’t they be proud of the family line? They literally built the country..others had no fight in the makings of it.

I’m just saying, you go overseas and you tell your kids how Irish or French or Mexican they are, I’m sure they’ll sing a different tune.

Very few modern immigrants do assimilate, and it seems the only ones that did it consistently had European ancestry. It's safe to tell US does have a culture similar to Europe, Canada, Australia even Russia but i wonder what that commonality is gee hmmm....

Not sure what youre getting at- if you consider American a race, then ok. But people having kids here does not make their race American, it makes them 50/50 ethnicity of the parents. That's why I said its a value system versus a race.

100% but it's an American value to give the benefit of the doubt- just like our justice system- innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. That comes with buying into the American ideology. Theres nothing but divisiveness if we are going to start ranking people based on their generations of family. Sure, theres an admiration you can take for those families, but not at the expense of creating enemies.

Would you consider servicemembers in combat jobs better than non combat jobs? I wouldn't. Theyre on the same team with the same goal.

Youre not wrong, and thats not entirely their fault- the leftist retards encourage it without realizing (or maybe they are) that its kills the identity of USA. American culture is vastly different than any place on the planet IMO.. I'd consider us more free as far as guns, speech, etc,.. go.

If you're not of European descent then you can never truly be a real American.

In fact, if you don't have relatives that came over on the Mayflower you might as well consider yourself a Puerto Rican.

Ded fukn srs.
