Canadian veterans offered assisted suicide

https://care.org.uk/news/2023/07/can...red-euthanasia

Keep voting Liberal , and this is what we’ve come to . If you have ptsd or are poor and starving , the Canadian government has a game plan , get them euthanized .
We may as well be nazi germany for fk sakes.
No money to help the poor ,yet there’s no limit to the amount of money the Libs will spend on immigration?

It's pretty obvious that the concept of "assisted suicide" is going to be abused to hell and back by governments with sociized medicine (which the U.S. does have to a much bigger extent than Euros/Aussies/etc. realize), because if the patient dies then they no longer have to foot bills for them. Saw this coming from 100 miles away when it was first being talked about a lot maybe 20 years ago or so

I was largely in favour of it back then, but seeing how NHS doctors have behaved in recent years(mostly since Covid in 2020) with doing DNR notices, without getting permission from families/asking them, patients being asked about DNR & trying to get them to sign forms for it-even when they are going in with minor things & how greedy some people are to get their hands on inheritance, homes etc-far more than back then, it is ripe for abuse.

The consultant for my mothers cancer was offering her drugs to give her a certain amount of time, she said can't you operate to remove it totally & he looked shocked & said yes, but he hadn't offered her that due to her age. It is almost like they saw so much death during Covid-both patients & colleagues, that they now have no interest in the Hippocratic Oath they swore & see life as worthless-especially in the elderly, who of course bore the brunt of Covid.

Esther Rantzen was recently shilling for Dignitas, yet she hasn't even started a final treatment option for her lung cancer. She has a lot of sway with pensioners & her bs will be influencing a lot of them towards this, when their problems are for most of them manageable.

I don't see a problem with this.

I'd be willing to bet that there would be a much lower rate of regret among the dead that chose assisted suicide compared to someone who ate a bullet on a whim.

I mean, if you were able to survey them somehow.

Another eugenics initiative to cull the population.

Crazy how so many aspects of mainstream politics are just normalizing and perpetuating modernized genocide programs. And all the hipsters lap it up.

Keep in mind that all these horror stories we hear about canada are 100% self inflicted.

They elected these fools and are reaping the benefits of doing so.

We should know, we are doing the same thing.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Whats wrong with this? Knowing there's a clean way out might actually prevent alot of suicides

People off themselves cause they feel trapped in their current situation

I used to be in favor of allowing medically assisted suicides. Morally speaking, and under the right circumstances without a government/corperations that will abuse it, I still agree with allowing medical suicides for the terminally ill who wish to end their suffering.

The problem with that is, the reality is, governments and corporations (insurance companies) aren't motivated to keep people alive who are having medical issues. It is literally in the best interest of the government (who does socialized medicine for many without insurance) and health insurance companies to let people die, so you know they can't be trusted with a concept like allowing lawful assisted suicides. Today they're going after old veterans they want to kick off of the government dole, tomorrow they'll be offering assisted suicides to physically healthy teenagers who say they're too depressed to carry on any longer.

Slippery slope is as real as the air we breath or the water we drink, srs.

Why do you have an opinion about what other people choose to do with their life?

This is projection.

I support it for those who are on the brink of death anyways who will only suffer, but when since has it become a solution and calling it a cure. It starts as a last resort option when nothing else will help, then it moves up to an option and soon they will start recommending it, finally start legally prescribing it.

I've litterally heard liberals say that no supporting lgbtqwerty and DEI is violence and worse than rape and people like that should be executed.

The case has now been turned over to the RCMP for investigation, Veterans Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay told members of the House of Commons veterans affairs committee on Thursday.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it once again, what happened was totally unacceptable,” MacAulay told committee members.

“There is no way to justify it, and I will not try to do that today, or ever.”

MacAulay said after learning of the revelations he ordered Deputy Minister Paul Ledwell to conduct an internal investigation, which found a total of four cases where veterans were offered MAID — all allegedly by the same caseworker.
