Making misc more workout related. What are you doing to better yourself today?

For me:
I’m doing a light squats 3x5 about 15% less than usual. Still tender from Tuesday’s workout, and Wednesday’s cardio.

Then BB bench 3x5 adding 2.5 lbs from my previous bench workout.

Followed by 1x5 conventional deadlift adding 5lbs from previous.

Finally lat pull downs palms facing in for 3x8.

Nice. Is it a 1 on 1 class, or group? What’s that cost?

When I was doing PT, it often left me more worn out than a regular training session

I bet. Not the same, but in my youth I’d jet ski (stand up) doing freestyle for hours. Upper back was yolked.

Yeah I'm not doing anything hardcore yet. So I ended up doing upper yesterday:

DB bicep curls
DB rows
Side lat raises
Lying tricep ext

Did 10 min on treadmill. I had to go slower than I thought. I tried starting at 1mp and ended up at .7 with a 2 incline. lol Better than nothing I guess. Knew I was walking slow outside but didn't realize how slow. I also wonder if I did more incline if that would have helped more. Walking up the hill in the neighborhood I usually feel like I'm walking almost normal. I'm going to try to do more incline today and see how it feels.

Inclines are easier on my hip than walking on level ground or a decline.

I just finished 30 mins, at 2.2mph, 11% incline. I wasn’t trying to kill it because my legs are still a little sore from previous workouts this week. And I wanted to save some for a 5rep PR tomorrow on squats.

Usually I start out at 15% incline with a weighted vest on, about 40lbs or so for 15 mins, then no vest for 15mins, sometimes more depending on how I feel. Last 5 mins I drop the incline, and go slower to cool off.

Repetitive motion if what bothers my hip the most.

Yeah incline is def easier on my knee than decline or even level surface. I ended up doing 11 min today .8 mph and 4 incline. Wow 11 and 15% incline is high! I can't wait until I can get up to the higher inclines. The treadmill I've had for 25 years stopped inclining a while ago. We just bought a new treadmill right around the time of my first surg in November so I haven't really had a chance to try it out much.

Nope, I got in to San Diego last night. There is an LA Fitness around but I might just take a few days off and let golf be my only physical activity. I have only taken a handful of days off in 2024, so I guess I'm.due.

Simple back day.

Shrugs, rows, pull downs and some rear delts, finished with light lower back work. Light cardio since I need to do more cardio.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Been just messing around with 50lb dumbbells, doing curls and shoulder presses and that’s pretty much it. Have some exercise bands doing some shoulder-arm stuff with them. And been using a COC gripper.

Going through pretty bad neck problem that is starting to get better.

Neck problem caused my arm and wrist and hand to get weaker on my right side. Finally starting to get better.

Biceps are looking like softballs now, arms looking good.

So weird with the neck problem, triceps didn’t work, pec didn’t work, biceps not great on that side; and grip went to chit. Fukin unreal. Getting better slowly tho.

Dunno if there's another diagnosis that matches as well, but your description really sounds like a bulging/herniated cervical spine disk - those are known to cause arm pain and weakness since the bulge can compress the nerves that run down your arm.

Found out earlier this week that I have some bulging disks, though I don't know if they really affect me since I don't have any neck pain.
