My friends wife is a teacher and she says students don't know shapes

She teaches 10-12 year old's and some don't know the name of shapes and don't even know the names of their own parents.

Yes a lot of them barely know how to read; I'm some even can't read at all. Yet it is impossible for children to be held back. Kids have no incentive to do ANY work at all. Some teachers say they have students who do not do a single assignment and still pass the class. This is because if the teacher tries to fail them then the kid's parents talk to the administration and the teacher gets a bunch of bull****.

There’s been a huge drop off in literacy over the past many years. Covid just sorta made it permanent because many schools never returned to the normal amount of school work and homework.

Google teachers students literacy and you’ll come across a lot of articles and posts from teachers talking about how bad it is.

Imagine being a kid literally just trying to survive and watching your parent struggle to provide poptarts for you for breakfast and then you’re forced to go into a building with fluorescent lights staring down at you all day and someone trying to inform you what shapes are.

Instead of telling people her students are dumb, she could teach them some chit. She has been their teacher since Sept and is obviously a total failure. Glad she isn't my kid's teacher.

It's mostly just whites doing this. If you're gonna try to fix the problem, the first step is to be honest.

Whites are the only group large enough to really sway anything.
