I would like to live in 17th century. Lots of cool scientists, lots of inventions....lots of freedom...simple life but yet so fascinating...coz people were exploring, inventing and having a good time...

The history books tell you about notable people and events.

What makes you think you wouldn't be a commoner?

I don't have to be someone notable or create a notable event, but just living amongst people in that time frame would have been cool.

Am I supposed to assume I'd be really well off financially and decently connected, or would I have to stay a middle class brah? If I have to stay middle class, then I might as well be right here in this time.

I guess a couple of centuries ago, middle class didn't exist. There were either rich or poor.

Ok, so you are fine with living in today's time. I was just giving an option.

But I can also sense that back then people didn't know anything else. They would just work in farms and eat.

I have chit vision and have had an appendectomy. In any other age I would be dead after 28 years of not seeing chit.

I would go for a weekend retreat in ancient Greece(No Homer) or the Roman empire around the time ofJesus to see what the fukk happened.

Easily the late 90s.

I would have loved to have been in my 20s in the 90s
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

1880's This seems to be when the world was all being built at the same time.

Other than that the late 1200's. Thats was when grimms fairy tales and such were set. I would like to see what the hell was actually going on back then.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Well, yeah. If I had been born back then, I wouldn't know what tech and amenities I was missing out on, so it wouldn't bogher me so much. But if was a deal where I had to do a time warp kinda thing and be aware of missing out on the modern world, I'd be miserable fast.

I wish we could just go back to the 2000's. That was roughly the sweet spot between awesome newer tech and clown world taking over in the 2010's.

I'd probably choose Ancient Egypt just to really grasp and understand how the great pyramids were built.

Otherwise I'd probably choose any of the other 7 ancient wonders of the world and see if 1) they actually existed in how we envision them today and 2) Marvel at what we consider "lesser" civilisations build such monuments and structures.

in more recent times probably Shakespearian England. Sitting in a tavern with some ale and listening to a bard sounds appealing.
I appreciate well thought out subtle trolling.

Yeah 2000's were pretty cool. 1980's and 1990's were good too. Although I was born in 1988, but I can get an idea of how cool it was by watching it on television or hearing it from other posters.

In 1990's, the idea of hanging out at night or sometimes late nights had kinda peaked, had the best music and movies, a nice selection of video games....people were very social...

Another reason why I chose the 17th century....so I could live in Isaac Newton's time. Also other cool scientists were around.

In the 80s they would play the National Anthem before they started showing previews in the movie theater.
