In Europe people meet up at a public landmark or park and just....be together...talk, not talk, sit, look around. Seems so nice

There are people everywhere doing amazing things all the time.

If you don’t see this happening in the world, it is your perspective you need to change.

Go new places, do new things.

You have the same ****ing conversation on here time and time again about other people not having lives. Ironic, right?

You are on your phone complaining about others being on their phone.

There are so many different clubs and activities. Even small towns have essentially real life reddits where people just get together to discuss a common interest.

Almost any hobby you can’t think of has an association you can join.

There is volunteer work in so many different fields that is great for socialization, which helps with resource collection, and it feels good.

This is on you guys man. You need to be spoon fed on how to make friends.

EOD you are an amazing troll. I respect that chit.

I think that as you get older people want to hangout less. There seems to be a huge drop off after the age of 21.

I know what you are trying to say. I appreciate your advice. But I have tried all that some years ago and it works for a while. Like you pick up something and find joy in it for sometime...but later on it wears off...I guess much of me feeling bored of everything has to do with me growing up....and I feel old sometimes (I am 35 but I feel like 60 sometimes)...I have nothing against people doing something and enjoying their lives, but I feel I have outlived myself...(I was actually having a good time some years ago)....

21 is way too early man (people start traveling and going out lots in their 20's). Let's say 30.

I understand those types transitions as I have experienced a few myself. The joy of something new and the quick wearing off of it. I can empathize with you there.

Not sure if this will help but it is what I have been working on and I have made progress with it….

At its core, life doesn’t require anything of us. Our feelings are overwhelming at times and make us feel like we HAVE to do certain things but we don’t. Our feelings are not right. Like ever.

Again I empathize with you when you say you felt you were having a good time years ago (but are not currently).

But why does that matter?

You want a good time sure, but that is just a feeling you have.

This is an extreme for of stoicism I have been exploring for a long time. I would suggest it is effective but it comes with a cost.

In order to give up wants and desires, in order to achieve this state of contentness I am working on, I have to disassociate from everything including your own identity.

I would suggest that the current understanding we have of these things is completely inaccurate so clinging to them in ignorance doesn’t help. Until you deliberately rip yourself apart and search for your true identity you are simply going along with what society and your environment has assigned you. And you think you made the choice.

So dissolving these ideas should not be as scary as it can be, but that is easier said than done. Because of course feelings, aka the ego.
