I'm sorry but some of yall are clearly out of touch with shooters
Fact is console fps gaming is dead. If you want the fps of yesteryear, get on pc and find discords.
As far as game chats and stuff yeah Xbox can ban you. That's not a thing on pc. I play apex and they don't monitor voice chat and it's very difficult to be banned for it even if reported. The apex subreddit has proof of respawn devs saying they can't monitor voice and ban for it, only text.
Warzone and some other battle royals have proximity chat, which is light years more fun than pre lobby chats. You can **** talk in real time while fighting people. You think pre game lobbies got you gassed up? Lmao try **** talking while you're actually shooting at the person. It's next level.
Idk yeah of course fps has changed, but you are simply on the wrong platform. There is no community in console fps. Get a PC where you don't have to pay and be subjected to Microsoft or Playstation terms of service. 50 percent of console players have no mic, the other 50 percent have a hot mic you have to mute anyways.

I DO agree however about getting a PC. I'm at that age where I'm tired of the furry dweeb taking over everything. Give my a rtx 5090 PC with GTA 6 and Cyberpunk. That's all I need to happy, the rest of the industry can due in a fiery crash for all I care

There's a sub reddit on Ubisoft's AAAA game, Skull & Bones. You should read the amount of COPE those stupid cucks spew. The game is terrible but they somehow justify that crap.
People like that sub reddit is why the game industry is so bad. People who buy COD every year. People who buy NBA 2k every year. People who buy every Asscreed.

The low IQ and easily influenced never seem to question it though, if anything they just get mad at people who complain about it lol. Nowadays you have game pass for what $15 a month and have an endless catalogue of games. Yes there are a chit ton of games on there but it’s not hard to scan through it and skip all the junk
I think back then our tastes were different to. Games I used to rent from blockbuster for my n64 would get absolutely crucified by reviews in 2024 but for me as a kid they were fun. Even today if I were to play them I would only play them out of nostalgia not because they are inherently better than today’s games. Tastes change and the standards are set very very high these days with the advancements that are being made
