Similar boat. Paid off property, name on title, will eventually go to my kids, etc. Helped my dad refinance with my credit as a cosigner years ago to give him a low interest rate. Financially, the whole arrangement made a lot of sense. As far as privacy goes, we have a lot of it in this property. There are rooms I haven’t opened the door to in months.

Makes logical sense. If I found a woman who made as much as me we could easily afford a house and like 5 kids. But a woman like that would only date Chadley Chaddington III: Collector Of Extra Pocket Money.

Many parents have medical issues so costly care is not in the budget and many parents need supervision, depending on if dads are still healthy and can do it.

Each parents situation varies.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

That is not a fair representation.. I have a ton of friends all earning 100k+ and balanced in personality and life who live at home and see no issue with it.

Again it depends a lot on culture.

I'm not looking down on anybody . Regardles how my situation went down I am still able to hold an opinion over whether 30 + year olds should be striving for independence and not living with mommy and daddy

At some point we need to become adults . Especially if you are considering bringing the next generation into this world .

Yeah man I know a guy In real life who hasn't lifted a finger in years , dad's basement, doesn't even have a car ...and he is 30.

I'm so embarrassed that I tell the story every few days.

You still live with your mother, your mother employs you, you can't get laid without paying. You are not a good example for why parents should let their kids rot in their house past 18.

You have to pay for sex because of how coddled you were. You are useless and would be homeless if it weren't for your mother's pitty.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

My wife left her mother's house at 17. Today my wife is very successful. My wife was not coddled growing up. Inversely, my wife has a brother who is 17 right now. He grew up in much better conditions than my wife and was coddled his whole life. He is just about useless. My wife was straight A student, deans list every semester in college, full time job as well, living on her own, etc. Her brother has a 2.1 gpa, is always crying about how he's depressed, and just had his first pregnancy scare, doesn't have a job, won't get into college. Clearly an easier upbringing is not the answer.

I know pharmacists and lawyers that live at home, and people that still rent a 2-bed with a roommate working dead end jobs.

If you know how to raise your kid then you wouldn't need the real world to teach him for you
