Why was Bridesmaids the only funny female comedy

Movie is legit pretty funny.

Bridesmaids is a great movie. I saw it in the theater when it came out and almost fell out of my seat I was laughing so hard. Still laugh after watching it a ton of times.

Never saw it. We all know that new excellent ghostbusters female reboot is the peak of female funny.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

It was directed & mostly written by Paul Feig. They gave a couple of broads writing credits to make them feel better but this was 99% a man doing the heavy lifting like usual.

It was funny because it wasn't overtly woke, it just happened to be about women. The funny part is that women constantly bash men for not seeing female lead roles and don't realize that no men give a **** about that, they only care about is the movie good/worth the time. Bridesmaids was funny and most people who like that sort of movie would admit that. Ghostbusters on the other hand (the female remake) was terrible because it was uninspired and unoriginal and thus didn't even need to be made, plus the original was so epic that it's hard to understand why you'd sully the brand like that.

Just like the new madame web bull**** that's doing terrible, nobody is skipping it because it's all women, it's not being watched because the acting and writing is terrible and there is no point to the story other than to make yet another female super hero (i don't care if she existed in the comics before, a lot of mainstream audiences won't know that or care).

Because it was original and presented relatable situations in a funny way, much like how some of the funniest male comics present their material. These days unfortunately, most female comics and comedies are either cheesy or feel the need to be over-the-top vulgar to be "funny".
