Is it evil to buy new shoe instead of donating the money to charity? philosophy bros

Cliffs:

If I’m walking past a shallow pound and see a child drowning, but I choose not to save him because I would ruin my shoes…you would say I’m evil

Extending that logic…if I make a conscious decision to buy new shoes instead of donating that money to charity, you would have to think I’m evil for that

Is it immoral and evil for us to spend money on literally anything we don’t need instead of donating to charity?

Most of the charities are schemes and never put the money you donate towards the actual cause they are telling you your money will go to.

And most people that give to charities do so for clout, so they can say, "look at me and how good I am"

"Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. "...

If you're feeling guilty about buying new shoes, think about it like this: you've done much much worse (voted Democrat)

If any civilization is to survive, it is the morality of altruism that men have to reject.

Look at the actual evidence. There is basically no evidence of "charity" helping anyone except the rich self-promoters who run the charities. Meanwhile people buying consumer goods made in Asia (like shoes) has dragged literally billions of people out of poverty over the past 20 years.

it depends on the basis of your morality

also, if you stop buying shoes what happens to the people whose livelihood depends on making or selling shoes
