House Oversight Committee Republicans sent a letter to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Friday demanding information about the commission’s approach to ensuring the enforcement of existing laws prohibiting racially discriminatory policies in the workplace, as DEI efforts have leeched into recruiting, hiring, and promotion decisions in many companies.

“As the federal agency responsible for enforcing federal laws against illegal racial discrimination in all types of work situations, it is critical that EEOC is taking all available measures to prevent and end unlawful employment practices that discriminate on the basis of an individual’s race or color,” wrote Committee chairman James Comer and subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs Pat Fallon in a letter to EEOC chair Charlotte Burrows, obtained exclusively by National Review.

The letter requests all documents and communications from January 1, 2023, to present “containing any enforcement guidance related to Title VII’s prohibition on employment practices that discriminate on the basis of an individual’s race or color prepared for or disseminated to any covered employer.”

/3 It appears from recent reports, however, thatat least some at the EEOC would rather continue to support companies’ “diversity, equity, and inclusion” discrimination programs than fulfill its mission of enforcing Title VII…

revealed that Commissioner Kalpana Kotagal “has signaled that she is keen to collaborate with her two Democratic colleagues to provide more direction on and encouragement of diversity and inclusion efforts in US workplaces.”

/5 The article went on to quote Commissioner Kotagal as saying that “[t]here are three commissioners who feel that DEIA programs’ continued implementation in the workplace are important” and that “you’ll continue to hear more from me, from Vice Chair Samuels, and from the Chair on DEIA practices moving forward.”

/6 Based on Commissioner Kotagal’s statements to Bloomberg, it is apparent that some at the EEOC have no intention of focusing on fulfilling its mission of ending ALL discrimination in the workplace…

/7 Instead, some are focused on finding a way to continue nodding to illegal DEI discrimination programs and brushing off the clear message from the Supreme Court that our civil rights laws codify a rule of individual equality without regard to race, color, sex, ethnicity, religion, or national origin.
