How do you hide evidence of a kitchen fire?

Fast misc. this is not a drill. I've got like an hour.

I did this in a friend's kitchen. I was making Southern-style buttermilk fried chicken, some oil came over the pot and hit the gas stove. Fire ensues. Stupid friend of mine throws water on it, a huge fireball engulfs the kitchen.


The overhead element catches fire and completely melts. That was the only tangible evidence of a fire so we went out and replaced the element.
