Anyone preparing for if/when SHTF?

Just curious.

After 2020 I woke up. I saw the panic, fear and hatred in people. I am 100% sure that if Chit hits the fan, people will go rabid and chaos will ensue. To survive, people will need weeks if not months of supplies to strap in, buckle down and lock up. I truly believe people would go absolutely wild, in a frenzy that will be like absolutely unexpectedly dangerous. I think we all truly and completely underestimate how rabid people get when it comes down to the wire.

I am renting a garage. It is very unfortunate because it isn't close to my apartment but best I can do. Currently, I have 3 months of food and water. No guns or bullets yet but I know I need that. I just don't know how to shoot a gun so I am working on that.

I think covid was just nudge. If the push doesn't come great! But I think that push very well may come and how unlikely covid would have been to us in 2019, I think that shove is coming. The US took down a warehouse filled with biological weapons and diseases in cali not too long ago. The news has completely swept it under the rug.

Are you preparing? What are you doing?

Outside of building up to 6 months supply, getting some weapons and ammo, I want to research first aid kits and the use.

Summer of 2020 I moved from dc to Utah and bought some land to build a farm. Been at it ever since. First thing I did was plant fruit trees since they take several years to be productive. Then I built a garden which I’ve been expanding every year. Started raising chickens, then goats then pigs. Learned a whole bunch of skills. This year we are working on solar and building some greenhouses that will be heated by hydrogen powered generators using electrolysis to produce the gas from water, then we should basically be completely off the grid and self sufficient.

Food, guns, and live in an area that's less than 10% aeronautical engineers. That's a start.

Keep your preparing under the radar too.

Best to live near like-minded people, so you can watch out for each other when the hoards come.

Living near leftists might not be bad since they won't be prepared at all, have no survival skills, and will be easy prey if you want to go full cannibal.

This is my fear. If SHTF people are going to go wild. I think we will see absolute crazed insanity.

I know I need to get a fire arm and learn to shoot. I am working on that, srs. That isn't something I have ever been around before so it isn't just an easy thing you know.

SHTF is a holliwood invention. Like covid. I believe in people. You keep fantasizing a loot and anarchy, in reality it will never happen, meanwhile you are being had.

Because I am not armed? F man

I am embarrassed to say I know nothing about guns. No idea where to even start. I am going to start researching hand guns but don't know where to start. I know a lot of dudes here think it is a joke but for those of us who know nothing about guns, it is intimidating. They are not exactly toys.

I witnessed looting and anarchy during the floyd riots. It's very much a reality where I live. Maybe not so much in New Westminster Canada.

Same. I don't think people can really appreciate how bad the BLM riots were unless they saw it up close and personal. When it happens right outside where you live it changes your perspective on how quickly things can go bad.

My area wasn't even hit that bad, but I remember finally going to bed and keeping my AR next to my bed in case something happened in the night. Again, you really can't understand how quickly things can go from relatively normal to really bad in just a few hours unless you've experienced it first hand.

I was assigned riot control in Anaheim/Huntington Beach/Long Beach during the initial chaos. Huntington Beach was by far the worst. We had three-four stabbings with box cutters on the day I went to HB (legitimate neo-nazis from inland empire vs BLM&antifa diehards from who the **** knows where) when the protestors went at it with each other. Surreal ****ing experience man.

Sorry you had to deal with that crap. I saw first hand what riot control had to deal with on the street below me. I was on the main route the "protestors" were marching and there were about 5-6 police cars that blocked the side street to keep the crowd on the main path. They had full on riot gear with the shields, face masks etc.

The "protestors" were literally shooting/throwing fireworks at the police that would explode only a few feet away from them. These weren't small ones either. They were the type that would blow your hand off if you were somehow able to hold them. Set off car alarms etc. When I saw the first one go off I thought for sure I was going to see the police just light them up because it was a flat out attack. They didn't of course, but in the moment it looked akin to war.

That was just the police on the side street. Following the "protestors" was easily a half mile of police cars, if not longer. Probably in the ballpark of a hundred police cars. It was insane.

Don't live in Minneapolis. I'm in California. Still had plenty of riots and chaos to go around for about 5 or 6 weeks from my memory.

Yeah, we mostly had those mortar style fireworks shot at us in the evening in Anaheim from gangbangers and other local ****heads. I don't think anyone got injured more than a burn here or there if they were stupid enough to wear short sleeves.

The mortars were probably the ones I saw as well. Couldn't get a good look, but given that it looked like they were thrown at the police that would make sense. Pretty sure I saw a few of the rocket types too, but those weren't the big ones. Hard to gauge the type or how big they were. They definitely weren't bottle rockets though.

We also had the standard windows broken and businesses boarded up with ply wood for a few months. Graffiti and crap. Compared to what else went on that was pretty minor.
