Just built a new PC a year or two ago, went liquid cooling on CPU with a 3080 12gb and its underclocked. Runs everything at max settings.
The 4090 is for serious rendering/editing.. i dont even consider it a gaming card yet

Probably a liquid cooled version would put it on a diet , but I only wanted an AIO on the processor.
The systems super quiet though after boot up

if you buy high end theres and you like high performance you can skip 2 gpu releases.
i have an rtx 3090 and regardless theres still no game i can't run at high fps.. with 24gb vram i am also set for a little while.
if you get the rtx 4090 you won't have any issues for a long time running games.. remember most games are made for current gen console's hardware

I have a 3090 that started crapping out legit the month after the warranty expired, was $2700 new (ROG STRIX)
Either that or the power supply or something is going, not sure yet but don’t want to give NVIDIA more money
Not certain what games would even use a 4090 to its full capability, this 3090 has had no problem running everything except cyberpunk at 4K w/ absolute max settings and apparently even a 4070 TI is better

As someone who bought a gtx 580 over 10 years ago when it came out.
It’s never worth it to buy the best card.
I run a rx6650 now and pretty happy with it.
Just upgrade to a medium card every few years.
Gpus get old really fast and can fail.

The thing about GPUs IMO is that we're at a point now where even the XX60/XX70 series GPUs are hitting super high frame rates on high settings at 1440p.
You only need a 4090 if you're gaming at 4K with raytracing

I guess it depends on if you're playing games for fun or if you're one of the people who only cares about graphics when you play. Watercooled 3080Ti has been working a treat for me the last few years (dfs). Getting the newest card might be the way to go so you don't have to upgrade in the foreseeable future. Make sure you get enough RAM and a solid CPU though.[color=red]Don't skimp on any other parts just to purchase the 4090 SRS[color]
