Calling out Freebummer

Do you use a monitor arm? is it a worthy investment?


Will the thing damage my table?


I've got an expensive Samsung Neo Odyssey G8 so I dont want that chit falling on my table. I'm not rich enough to go buy another high end monitor just like that.

I bought an Ergotron monitor arm for my 34" UW QD-OLED. One of the better investments I've made srs. After a year of use there's a bit of marking on the table.

It helps declutter your desk so much, srs. I put my DAC underneath, etc.

None of my monitors have ever seen a stand always monitor arm crew. Even my mic is on a clamp arm

I use the clamp on ones, no damage no probs.

Using this at the moment

Monitor arms are a no brainer. They free up so much desk space, especially with multiple monitors.

However I did find this when I was searching locally ... It seems quite sturdy and of quality -https://www.ect.my/accessories/other...op-stand-mount




Anything specific that I should be searching for with these arms? .... Can these arms hold a 42 inch oled tv in case I decide to upgrade? or are arms monitor specific only.

Do they even work with ultra wide if I ever decide to go down that route? (I dont plan to, but I like the option of future proofing in case of spontaneous autism)

They may not be rated for that size but oled tvs are fairly light might work

Are the VESA mount sizes the same? I genuinely have no idea, they nay not be

I use a rolling tv stand for my tv, love it, slide that bitch around wherever I need it

I like to rearrange my office alot so nothing is on a permanent fixture. And the rolling stand is amazing for the oleds, because they are a nightmare to move around because of the thin screen

That's funny, I have the same exact one for my 2 32s. I actually mated another rod on top to hold a single 24 for my security cameras, which barely gets used nowadays.

Stands just take up so much room, mine were triangle shaped with the pointy ends always getting in the way of everything.
Me caveman, put round things on bar, lift, pound chest.

Just got the monitor arm ..... cottdamnnn the amount of space it's cleared up is crazy. Loving it.


I'm just paranoid the thing hopefully doesnt fall off lool, but it seems to be pretty secure.

I use the ones where you clamp on the tables like weedbrah mentioned - There are also ones where you can drill onto the table.


From my experience, seems like the most important thing for an arm is how you want your set up

- Are you using dual screens?
- How big is your monitor and are you planning to upgrade?


I'm not into the dual set up just yet so I bought a single arm one that can handle big loads --- People have set up their 48 inch oleds onto the one I bought, so if I ever get a screen that size I know I'm good (I'm just not sure if it can handle a widescreen at that 48'' since widescreens tend to be heavier than regular 16:9 monitors eh?)
