Going to be buying an engagemet ring within the next month…

1 How much is appropriate? (I’m thinking $25k max)

2. Have a 3 week tripped planned to NYC, Orlando, Miami, and the Bahamas. Which location should I consider proposing?

3. Should I pepper my angus?

Reps till I’m out.

don't waste your money on a diamond ring. diamonds are non fungible and have very little resale value. you'll be lucky if you get a third of what you paid.

buy non branded gold, and purchase based on weight plus labor. the ring doubles as a great investment as gold is poised to go higher and higher. and gold is fungible and trades like a currency, so you can resell it easily.

The ring won’t be mine for resale. It’s a gift to her and her boyfriend. If I was going into this worried about having to resell the ring I wouldn’t even consider getting engaged.

True. We’re going to Bahamas for a wedding so I can’t steal the thunder there and propose. Maybe I’ll just wait until we are back in Europe where she lives.

Just don't waste money on a diamond. There's lots of options like moissanite that look identical but are 1/5 the price. 25k is ridiculous for something she'll show off to her friends and then only wear when she wants to after the wedding.

Hey dude, nothing is too good for OP's man. This is his future husband we are talking about, here!

It sounds like you've bagged a good one, OP. I say you stick with your plan and spare no expense on this gem of a keeper! Happy for you, bro

You're a retard to spend that much on a ring.

Go lab grown. They are the same as mined diamonds.

The ring I got my girl would have went for over $55,000 if it was mined.

If you have a girl who wants a ring that expensive and you're not a mogger, you're gonna have a bad time.

I proposed to my wife with my great Aunts engagement ring. Felt good to not start our marriage in debt due to a fuking ring and to use a family keepsake.

Man, that is an expensive AF ring. Follow the rule of two months of salary, and what do you get?

For me, it would be like $8880 for a ring. I don't think I would spend that much on a ring.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Euro chicks dont appreciate rings, not a big part of their culture. You said 25K, you can half that for a euro chick, ded srs. Look at euros rings, they are like 1/4 caret for wedding. Its very american to do huge 2+ caret stones

2 months salary for me would be ~$7750.

hell no I'm not spending almost 10 grand on a ring. thats insane.

$1k max. Would rather drop the other $6750 on a trip if i had to, make some memories. my girl would agree as well.

Don't post your ring here. Not unless you want to get mogged. Asian Mike already showed us his massive diamond ring.

I like my gf and might marry but I'm not spending no 25k on a ring

3 week trip to 3 different places? Lol. You guys really go all out

I'm a basic son of a gun but it always worked out decent for me

Good luck man...I'd think you'd get the same effect if you spend like 5k.

The odds of the marriage failing go up the more you spend on a ring.

1 $5k is plenty. More than that is showing off. Less than that is pretty small.
2 Make it a place you want to go back to. Bahamas?
3 How could you think otherwise?

$25k max? Are you fuking high? Even at the most perfect color/clarity a diamond that cost will start to look fuking retarded on someone's finger.
