Who thinks the economy is going to implode?

Inflation is not cooling.

35Trillion in debt.. more like 100 trillion when you factor ponzi scheme SSI.

More people are living paycheck to paycheck and have increased credit card debts to never before seen amounts.

No one can afford to buy a house anymore.

More people are choosing not to work then anytime in history.

12+ million illegals have come over the border.

I think end of 2024 is going to massive layoffs in all sectors.. retail will be hit hard. Great Depression 2.0 is coming.

All thanks to Biden Supporters and Leftists ruining this great country.

Just go over to Reddit Lay-offs and read all the posts. They all voted for this. They deserve this.

Biden's America.

The housing market is cooling down in a big way. They kept the economy running on fumes for a while, but the wheels finally seem to be falling off.

I don't think like 80% of the population works anymore. I go out during the day every day and all the places are full and lines everywhere.

Nah.

The economy has been imploding since 9/11. It's been a gentle spiral downwards ever since then.

You just haven't noticed because tech is getting better, but your quality of life versus time spent working is steadily getting ground down.

It's not gonna implode, it'll just get slowly worse on lower classes. We were living in good times right before COVID, still ok right now since wages have gone up and some of us have managed inflation. Anyone who got a house circa 2020 or before is sitting pretty right now, those who didn't are fooked.

It seems like everyone made it. Everyone is rich now and living like a celeb from what I'm seeing. Just go out in your metro during the day and you'll see nobody is working yet spending like it's 1999

To be doing this you'd have to be very wealthy

This is a unique point in history... we can't say how it's going to go.

-Humanity's population has NEVER declined for like a century straight. Not once in like 10,000 years. But that's the road we are on now.
-Humanity has NEVER had every nation on Earth use fiat currency simultaneously before.
-Humanity has NEVER had every nation on Earth be debt-trapped simultaneously before.

So who's debt trapped when everyone's debt trapped? How's the economy supposed to grow when humanity itself is shrinking?

I don't have the phucking answers. No one does.

On paper, the US is locked into an inflationary death spiral. It's just mathematical. They make $4.5T a year, they spend $7T, and they already owe $34T. Their economy has sub-3% real growth for the last 20 years, there are no prospects for materially higher future growth, no leaders have advanced plans to cut spending, and the treasury is very comfortable monetizing debt. Inflation is how they will have to keep making payments.

But when EVERY country is looking at inflating away their unpayable debt... then what happens.

I think it's either going to be a world debt jubilee in 20-50 years, which would be one of the most momentous events in history. Or all the weaker countries just collapse faster than America and we steal all their marbles. As the saying goes, you don't outrun the bear by being faster than the bear, you just need to be faster than your buddy.

its all an orchestrated collapse. Wont be sudden but gradual, been going on for years

Every Western nation is declining rapidly. Inflation is out of control and hiking interest rates has not done anything (stagflation). Massive immigration. Huge debt to GDP ratios

Its game over if you make less than 100k a year realistically

Housing prices have increased 50% since then, add to the fact that interest rates have ballooned. I'm in a generally decent COL area in the Midwest, not some coastal area. Even if I had a down payment ready to go, the payments now vs just a few years ago are fukking nuts. I've increased my pay and could make it work, but have you run the math on median income vs housing lol? We're gonna have a generation that's probably going to forego the whole deal.

Live cheap for a couple years, stack cash, and make a larger downpayment.

We've been living under 0% interest rates for years, rates going up isn't surprising.

I'm a hardcore Trump supporter too so I'm not saying this in defense of Biden or anything.

Globalists will get what they want. Regardless of whoever is in office, they have too much influence now. All you can do is maneuver around it. Sitting around crying about it on a forum isn't going to help.

8+ year car payments, dealers will drive "new" cars X amount of miles so they can be considered used, then mark them up $10-15k

Crippling student debt

Insane house prices because 2 corporations are flipping them

A fast food meal costs $20

Wage stagnation

...and the average (or median, can't remember) income is still $35k.

Yeah interest rates weren't a huge surprise. I personally was in no position to get a house then unfortunately.

I ain't sitting around crying, just acknowledging the facts. Honestly whoever is in the oval office has almost zero bearing on day to day decisions, nor do they have as much power on our lives as we do ourselves. The fear rhetoric has worn thin for me, especially as I've personally increased my QOL. There's so much we can do ourselves, I'll agree to that.

8 year car payments? You don't have to own an $80k truck.

if you aren't paying for a car in mostly cash anyways, no sympathy

people are fukking retarded. my sister had to buy a car a few months ago and she was happily about to pay 7-10% interest rates like an idiot

as long as consumers are stupid with their money, prices will continue to go up. good riddance

Starting to feel like $200k is the new $100k. Just feels like $100K doesn't have the same prestige it used to.
