How long does it take to heal? Asking for myself thanks.

Broke my pinky around this time last year. Took about 4-5 months before it felt like it was back to being close to full strength and I didn't have to baby it anymore. It still doesn't go completely straight all the way, doubt it ever will. I visited a sports injury Doctor who took a couple of x-rays and told me I had something called an avulsion fracture and would need surgery if I wanted it all back to being like before. I decided against the surgery and used some recommended exercises along with a hand cast for maybe two weeks, which I should've used for much longer. I'm now fine with it being a little wonky, adds character lol.

I'm sure each injury is probably a little different though. Would recommend getting it looked at and seeing what the x-ray shows.

Uh oh. Sorry to hear kimm.

Closest I had was boxer's fracture on my 5th metacarpal in my hand. It took at least a couple months to heal. It hurt like a bitch for the first few days, was hard to use my hand.

Did you get you get the bone reset and put in a cast or splint?

I hope you feel better.

Broke my index finger in 3 places about 2 years ago, I've been able to fully bend it without pain or maybe rather feeling uncomfortable just recently.

Broken a few playing judo over the years. I'd say you're looking at 2 months easily. But, if you're unwilling or unable to stop using it then it could be significantly longer.

I just taped them and kept playing and idk...it was months tbh I don't even know.

Depending on what happened it'll grow back thicker and any rings may never go on again. I would definitely take any off that finger while it's healing.

Yes, partial fracture of fingers as a kid and partial fracture of a thumb as an adult. Neither was a huge deal and I was back to doing most things in about 4 weeks.

If you have broken it clean through, it will take a lot longer, especially in a woman over the age of 30It's one of life's hard truths that it takes longer as we get older.

Depending on age, but weeks for the bone break to fuse. Then another probably 2 months before it feels normal. Since they are used so much, the healing process takes forever. Broke quite a few in sports, not much you can really do except wait for it to heal and take as easy as possible in the meantime.

It depends on the severity of the fracture. You can have a hairline fracture, a spiral fracture, compound fracture, etc. Depending on the severity, you could need a splint or need surgery to have the bone reinforced with a plate and screws. Regardless, get it looked at, because if it's almost nothing, that can easily progress into worse since now the bone is compromised. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

don't think i've broken any fingers but i've had mallet finger in my right ring finger and that was a pain in the ass to heal

Not that exciting. Stray dog in my yard and trying to hold back my boy. Finger got all caught up/twisted in his collar and here we are. I'm in between using a gel/ice finger thing and a splint which I hate...it's uncomfortable af.

How broken? Is it displaced and require surgery?

If its just a hairline fracture, it probably won't be too bad.

I've broken my foot 3 or 4 times and just had to walk while it healed, but you don't have to bear any weight with the hand. A finger splint for 2-3 weeks would suffice, then you'd feel some discomfort for a while.

My thumb playing lacrosse when I was like 16. Probably longer than it should. It had started to heal/set when I got it looked at 3 weeks after. Doc said he’d have to break it to reset it. I said I’ll pass since it wasn’t too bad. So about 3 weeks I guess. But I wasn’t like really taking care of it either.

i actually did have a fractured ankle. some of the worst pain i ever had.think i was in a cast for 2 or 3 months.cant remember its been a while. Hope you feel better!

I broke my pinky toe and **** my life it took 6 solid weeks for the throbbing and pain to subside then several more weeks to heal for the most part, not sure when it fully recovered—maybe a like 3 months.

I don't know because I haven't been to the doctor. What do you think should ice/splint be enough? I've broken toes in the past and you can't do anything for those so I was thinking this is similar lol...

Tape it to a popsicle stick and sit there with a bag of frozen peas (or something similar) on it. If it looks worse tomorrow, go see a doc.

When accounting for the swelling, everything seems to line up where it should be, so you might be lucky and just have a sprain.

Ankle injuries are the worst and they take forever to heal. I walk at night and stepped in a pothole and rolled my ankle...took over a year to hear and every so often still doesn't feel right.
