"Woke" is rooted in when schools taught you to use "I feel..." statements

Remember when they taught you not to say I think and to instead say I feel?

When you think something and it's dumb, people could tell you you're wrong.

When you feel something and it's dumb, you're adopting a subjective truth.

I disagree for the following reason.

Being woke relies on projecting personal values on others. Using personal emotion to control others behaviors. If you come out against a woke agenda item, it could have consequences on your standard of living. It is a form of manipulation.

Simply communicating your emotions, in a direct manner, without acting on them, is simply that, a form of communication. You expressed your self.

The difference is the expectation for others to do what makes your feelings better. And I feel statement ends when you have expressed yourself, and still leaves room for the person to maintain their autonomy. Which can result in additional consequences, like a break up, but as long as you expressed yourself sincerely and honestly, you can do that with confidence. Let them do whatever they want. You do the same.

We see this on the misc with biased concepts. You don’t agree with someone here they automatically start trying to degrade you as a person. It is a form of manipulation because they simply cannot be okay with people having different values, so they try to make them feel bad for it. It is immature af, but it is literally the same thing as the woke BS. Using personal values and emotions to try to control others thoughts and behaviors.

Any other questions?

Nobody ever taught me to say that. And having a feeling about something is not the same as having a thought about it.

Therapists do this chit too. The problem with "I feel" statements is they are always followed by "you."

"I feel like you." Wrong. Always wrong. Manipulative. Controlling. Narcissistic. WRONG.

"I feel" is always a statement about yourself and your own feelings, it should not be used to portray the actions or emotions of others.

Additionally I advise against disregarding other people who directly communicate their emotions in a calm demeanor. Many times we do not take each other seriously until we are staring significant consequences in the face. I suggest people are learning to communicate effectively and if you don’t take them serious, you have destroyed that relationship. Not them.

When someone brings you and I feel statement, whatever they do next they can do with confidence as they have directly expressed themselves.

Communication is a two way street boyos.

We need to teach women to communicate like this. It is not woke. It is effective.

Based and communication pilled.

Acknowledging much of this is easier said than done if you are not familiar expressing yourself. Imagine in the moment of an insecurity where you think your wife is cheating on you and keep trying to grab her phone, you simply state the observations you perceived, what conclusion that brought you to and why, and then simply ask her to explain herself, and receive what she has to say?

With work, it is absolutely possible. It is liberating. It enhances my life. Many people cannot communicate this way. Many can, and the relationships are amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Would recommend.

I am willing to practice or work with anyone who would be interested. Effective communication is a super power we can all develop. I would absolutely recommend developing it.

Imaging begin able to teach your wife to communicate like this instead of throwing her little temper tantrums. She will respect you because this type of communication demands respect. When she communicates with you this way, you will respect her because this form of communication demands respect. If you do not respect it, what happens next is on you. And because this form of communication was used, you already know that. It is fair. Imagine teaching your children to communicate with you and others this way. They will respect you and others, and they will be respected.

It all starts with the most basic form of respect. Allow others to be themselves. Express yourself in a way that allows them to be themselves. At the same exact time, you expect to others allow you to be you. And you communicate that clearly.

This, same with my kids.

I thinkI think(lol) In my opinion "woke" takes root when the sense of fairness takes more importance than reality and the understanding of surrounding circumstances.

I feel like that is wrong.

Vs

I think that is wrong

See how one is subjective and cannot be argued? Doesn't matter if that thing is wrong or not, I'm not telling you it's wrong, I'm telling you how I FEEL. And you cannot tell me I don't feel like it's wrong even if it is right.

Being right or wrong isn't even in the conversation. This isn't about the thing being right or wrong. It's strictly about how I feel, and I'm telling you how I feel.

See?

Hmm. Never thought about the difference between feel vs think that way.

Interesting.

But you're right. Easy to dismiss if one is "thinking" certain something than if "felt".

Had to work with number of Uni of Chicago students, I was astounded by their constant use of "I feel like".

When someone expresses their thoughts as "I feel", nearly impossible to correct them.
