My parents retired to the Dominican Republic at age 53 and 52 respectively with about $200k cash and about the same in assets. They live pretty well. And my father has been able to grow that $200k into about $500k in additional assets. They live off about $1500 a month. So it's definitely doable.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Yeah in Vietnam you can find a nice condo close to the beach for like 300 per month in a nice, safe, modern city area. Food, internet, cell service all dirt cheap too. Probably similar in the Philippines. South America probably has similar prospects and might be easier to stay long term, visa-wise

some more remote areas in Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia (Bali is infested with white people) you can definitely live decently

until you need good healthcare - don't think these places have good healthcare

You could live cheap in South America. You could also get kidnapped, held random, have amputated limbs sent to your parents and friends, and then decapitated once ransom was paid... Have fun bro
.

My brother in laws family is from Ecuador and has dual citizenship in the USA. They are wealthy. They recently packed up and got the fuk out of ecuador. The cartels knew they were connected politically and wealthy and placed hits on them. A relative got kidnapped and the cartels kept cutting his fingers off and sending them to relatives then killed him. It was pretty safe until the past 5 years or so. The cartels took over the government and run the country now.

Argentina might be ok but cost of living is rising. Communism is spreading like wildfire in south america currently.

Just go for a couple months each year to visit.

Belize is the standard destination, although I hear it's getting less affordable.
