Retro is nowhere near as popular as these types of games

We're in the age of the Marvel movies when it comes to gaming. Big sales numbers for some chit that a lot of people aren't into. This is an odd time for the media industry.
As for retro gaming, it's become a sort of silent majority. They have no real presence on gaming sites or big forums, but it's become surprisingly popular.

Games were $20 back in 1980, you still expect them to be $20 45 years later??

Unless it's a Fromsoft, Atlus, or Nintendo game never buy on launch. Buy it half priced in a year when the game is finally fixed.

-fully fleshed out player campaign, single player or Co op up to 4 people
-Fully fleshed out multiplayer, with ranked and casual Playlists
-forge mode, for users to tinker and create endlessly
-ability to create custom lobbies and support anything made in forge mode
-good gfx
-120fps mode
Imo, regardless of how you feel about Halo, it is a more complete game than what most other devs are offering. It's popularity is a whole different subject, but I don't see how you could argue that halo isn't packed full of much more content than most other games of the same price.
I miss when games launched and had multiplayer and single player and Co op all in one game. These days you're lucky to get more than just a single player campaign.

Depends on the game tbh. If I'm getting even 10-20 hours out of a game and I'm paying $75-$80 after tax I mean chit $4-$8/hour of entertainment is OK by me. At this point in my life I know what games I do and don't like so I don't need to play everything that comes out.

A game you can get 40 hours of enjoyment out of for $80 is pretty good in my eyes. Maybe it's expensive to people who game 40 hours a week and always needs to buy the new shiny stuff.Back then we just bought a few games per year and rented the rest though. $75 per game will add up fast. I game on PC so i get games cheap (also don't have to pay for multiplayer), i have no idea how people are pre ordering and spending $75 on all these new games coming out.

I paid $50 but the original experience, time, and feels I had put into it it was worth $50k easy.

if games kept up with general inflation they would be more expensive.
Games cost more to make than ever before, and relative inflation cost less than ever before.
Gamers are just entitled and want perfect 12/10 games they dont have to pay for.
ultimately this industry is going to fail cause they'll only be able to make money off live service microtrans games

The truth is games have been getting much MUCH cheaper despite exponential increases in development costs.
This! Man I had to GRIND out in that summer heat doing yardwork for neighbors to get one game and it better be a good game because it would take like a month or more to make enough money for another game.

Luckily for me and my younger brother, games like FF6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Link to the Past and Mario All stars had S tier replay value.
