It's a hassle to hold bitcoin, much user friendlier to hold the ETF

People are dumb and digital wallets are too deemed too complicated. In many way its actually easier then using your banks app on your phone.

Jokes on them, they do not control that actual BTC that ETF is back by. Its comical when you really think about all this. The whole point of crypto is being circumvented.

Everyone should understand wallets, never hold on a CEX, etc.

Good news is the ETF does incease exposure to BTC like never before.

Safer, easier, not all brokers sell bitcoin etc.

And options are coming, meaning you can sell calls and puts on your ETF position to generate a kind of a “Dividend” , and if you are a retard you can also buy puts! (Please do)

Personally I hold some spot bitcoin but I also do leveraged bets aka CLSK (miner) and MSTR (stock of a company that holds insane amounts of bitcoin on its balance sheet). God bless its CEO Michael Saylor, I got into Microstrategy irresponsibly balls deep before the 10x run, I can retire while still having some torch left in my pencil. Highly recommend you DCA into cleanspark and MSTR on dips. Other miners are nowhere near as good.

For ETF I go with blackrock (ibit) since more volume means better options, but we will see.

I'd guess that most people enjoy their automated 1099's they get from their brokerage. Crypto is still behind in that sense because it's regulated by state which makes things even more complicated.

fukking stupid question op

I'm guessing it was meant in a condescending, arrogant kind of way but instead you just come across as retarded. You probably think you're rich because you own 0.5 bitcoin or something whilst living in your parent's basement.

This is the original intent behind why bitcoin was made by Satoshi in 2009 after the financial crisis.

Lol… no… this is how you end up in jail, and some early developers of crypto currencies all the way from 1980s to 2012 actually found out the hard way, when they got raided or jailed or threatened by the government. Bitcoin is a way to protect yourself from inflation, to store wealth more conveniently, and to move money around easier without paying high banking fees. In fact even US government itself presented one such attempt to crypto community before bitcoin. Everyone was looking for this possibility until one finally worked.

The original pioneer of crypto even stated that he maybe thought of what you wrote, BUT that was quickly reversed as he was threatened with jail. He then went much more government friendly route, and even Bill Gates offered him 100 mil to put early bitcoin crypto predecessor into every computer etc.

In short, human nature. People are lazy and will generally choose the path of least resistance. Just look at how even "motivated" people are constantly looking for shortcuts with diet, workout etc.

What you guys always skip over is that you have absolutely zero payment protection or deposit guarantee. Banks always do, backed by the government.

High banking fees? Not in the uk. I’ve moved 4,5 and 6 figures around the world at little to no cost instantly and securely.

Bitcoin hasn’t protected against inflation in more than two years, its lost value.

Apart from that, carry on

I wanted to put some in my Roth IRA. Tax free gains.

I doubt you guys are reporting your gains, but it'll probably catch up to you at one point or another.

Other reasons are having your wallet stolen or the exchange is also a risk.

Why did you pick 2 years and not 1 or 3 or 12?

Bitcoin is statistically the best investment in history.

The volatility is fine, it can be used to make more money faster.

Many banks use blockchain these days. People send money with 30% western union fees, bitcoin takes care of that. Not sure why you are so afraid of it. People will keep bumping your posts every all time high lol

ETFs are a lot safer and you can hold in tax advantaged accounts

I mean in the past month how many times has Coinbase gone down?
