Ofcourse no wants to see another very long title reign, especially soon after the last one...but I think Cody will at least carry the title till WM41 and lose it to The Rock...
Nice feud options for Cody on the way...Orton, Styles, Punk, LA Knight, Cena, Solo, Gunther...

I was talking about this the other day and I concluded with this.
Cody Rhodes is decent but he is not as good as Eddie Guerrero.
He's not as entertaining, he's not as good in the ring, he's not as charismatic.
It is my opinion he should lose the title around summerslam time, give him a nice little run of a few PPV's and another nice big win at summerslam then move the belt off him.
Wrestlemania next year should be about crowning the future of wwe, in the same way that WM 20 was about Eddie and Benoit getting their props, then 21 was about Cena and Batista (was meant to be Orton)
Cody is almost 40, he's not the future, WWE need not make the mistakes of putting all their eggs in that basket, there is young talent on the roster and their time needs to come sooner than later

curious how the fans receive this over the next few months. Rhodes is as hot as any babyface I can think of in recent WWE history. But so was Daniel Bryan and while we remember the big victory at WM30, does anybody really remember the rest of his reign? How about Kofi Kingston and 'KofiMania' (granted Rhodes was much longer and more legitimate of a story). I only mention them because they come to mind as examples of the fans absolutely starving for their victory yet once it happened, it was a bit 'meh, alright, next'.
If I ran the place I'm giving Cody a nice run because business dictates it. You can't argue with his merch numbers and the story just told by his character chasing the mountaintop. The tickets and ratings and all that have been too strong to turn around and throw the title on Randy or Gunther or anyone else right away. I'd think you get one more Roman match, the guy was champ for years and doesn't want a rematch?

Punk's got Drew and Seth seemingly lined up but lord knows he can sell a story once healthy and back, assuming in the fall. Orton and Rhodes have history and family lineage in the business. Gunther seems primed to take the next step. And as I said you have at least one more big fight w/ Roman in a rematch. All of that can carry this into 2025.

We just had a 3-year title run by a major heel. The fans deserve at least 6-12 months with a babyface carrying the belt. You need that occasionally just to clean everyone's palate.
It remains to be seen how he does working opposite of guys the crowd doesn't have any real heat with. Could be good, but could also flop.

Cody as champ feels like 2016-2020 all over again
tbh they messed up with cody originally going for Romans title to "finish the story"
the WHC should of gone to cody instead of seth
IMO having Roman drop the title was a horrible decision
Every time roman would return for an upcoming PLE match you knew it would be huge, but with cody i personally have no interest in fueds with say aj styles or gunther
the only "money making" match Cody has is either vs Rock or Orton

Roman's title run lasted so long becasue they were waiting for the Rock.
This year the fans got so fed up with it, they had to end it.
Now they want to do Rock vs Cody. I know Rock said with or without the title, so that gives them some leeway, but they forced themselves into another year of Super Cody booking.
It makes Cody's potential matches completely uninteresting. Gunther is the only credible challenger.
Waiting for the Rock puts everything on hold. They should have learned this when it rendered CM Punk the longest transitional champion in HIStory. They should have learned this when they had to drag out Roman's title run. But they are doing it again.

Cody is the future, but this is just the beginning. The real money shot comes in a couple years with his heel turn as the next Heyman guy. He's already part heel with the suit and watches and whatever other jewelry Rock handed to him. You have to look at the big picture and have a little more patience with this white meat baby face for a little while. It's coming.

Rock punked him over the last few months. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rock pulls an angle where sexy ass wife is sucking his cawk.
A non-clean victory at WM says a lot.
If wwe wanted to make Cody look strong they would have had no in-ring interference. Inserting Rock, Taker and Cena into the main even also says a lot.
But apparently it was the greatest main event ever 🥴

And we still have not seen Cody vs Rock or Roman vs Rock.
I don't know about the greatest WM main event ever, but definitely one of the best endings ever.

He’s grown on me. He wasn’t too grandiose for me not until he wrestled Dustin Rhodes at the AEW debut PPV. Him leaving AEW for WWE was a big deal and the feud with Brock Lesnar I think he’s lived up to the hype. Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock at Summerslam!
