question for brahs who do nto want kids
do you not have concerns what your life will be like after you are old, your mom and pop are gone and there is noone to visit on weekends?
after your friends cannot hang out with you cause they either sick, with their families or dead?
are you not afraid of being left alone without anyone closer as a friend?
this skit haunts me

Everyone is different. But having a kid of your own completely changed your views and your life and for the better in every way. Just be sure you have one with the right person..

I'm saving my children from depression by not having them.

proof of this: I've gone through it in varying degrees within my own family AND i've worked at assisted living facilities and had plenty of time to listen to old folks ramble on their entire life stories about their kids, and how much of a disappointment they were or the things they wish they could have done different. The sad part is, these old folks disowned their kids for the stupidest and pointless reasons imaginable; Marrying outside their race, not following the same religion they followed, being gay, getting a tattoo, disowned for not joining the military, disowned for JOINING the military, etc...just chit that, in the grande scheme of things, doesn't even matter. I feel like people who have convictions that strong for such trivial things, simply shouldn't have kids.
TBH Its sadder if youhavekids and they don't come around. At least the childless person doesn't have the expectation that there will be someone to help them. Personally, if I get to the age where I can't take care of myself, do the things I enjoy, and where simple tasks cause me great pain, i'm just going to spend the remainder of me retirement to fly to The Netherlands so I can crawl into one of those pods so they can gas me. It sounds grim, but i'm just being realistic. Its good to have a plan because dying is expensive.

I want children, but I have no expectations that my children will do anything for me in my old age. It's kinda selfish to just have children as an insurance policy so that they take care of you in old age.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

i actually would have liked to have had a kid or two but at this stage of the game, at my age, i simply have too much to lose by having a kid & the personal hell that could result from a relationship w/the mom IE the last thing i wanna spend money on is a divorce lawyer or legal fees to get the right to see them should the mom run off.
if it were as simple as me & a gal having one, she keeps her place i keep mine, she keeps them half the time and so do i then id strongly consider it.

if you're not capable of thinking solely about the welfare of your child, you shouldn't have kids.
If you've alienated everyone in your life and it's so pointless you need people to distract you from your pitiful existence, that's not the problem of your offspring.

It's funny. I got banned from my favorite forum Fires of Heaven for talking about this sht. We have 8 billion people and finite resources. The population keeps rising. It has never once gone down, except bottleneck extinctions. If we had half the population, i'm not saying genocide, but government controls breeding. Tourism would be a lot more fun, visiting the beaches would be a nature experience instead of a crowd experience. Life would be better. But anyways, when I posted this, I got called a f@g and a racist because the FoH mod assumed I was referring to black people when I said we should restrict breeding. And I got banned.
Sorry. But fck breeders. They are selfish. We are fcking ourselves over and we aren't even realizing it. If you discuss the population problem with finite resources, every scientist would agree with you, its a problem. But the world is going to hell anyways, I for one, am not going to have a child. 100 years is a long time to live. We missed the glory years of having a child. Which was the American Dream sold to us.

it`s the Africans and Indians who are breeding like rabbits without actually being able to take care of their citizens and children, relying on western aid or letting the offsprings live like filthy animals

Every second a child is born. That child will eventually be competition for you for a piece of the pie. We would have pie for everyone if that population was half that it is now.

if another child is born to compete for a slice of pie... that means there's one more resource to create more pies for everyone. that's why we've kept procreating, and we're wired to keep doing that, and why your post reads like an idiotic 14 year old reddit shower thought post.

Pro tip-
When you get older and your kids get older, they forget about you and quit visiting and calling and the like. They have their busy lives. Not in every case but certainly in mine and others like me.
The trick to getting old is not to have to rely on others. get your diet fixed early so you dont need anyone when you are older . The facts are that in the end, when the chips are down, you simply cant depend on anyone,
You might be able to but when you are laying there incapacitated that will be a hell of a time to find out you were wrong. PLan ahead and get stronger. That alone will help you as you age.

I don't want kids, and I think about this a lot.
Ultimately though, it's not really a choice. I've got a bunch of genetic fukkups that make me having children basically like playing Russian roulette with 4 chambers loaded. So it's like, do I want to be old, crippled and lonely, or do I want to have a handicapped child.
Even if I'm just thinking of me, #2 is a chit deal. And bringing in a kid who's going to have a tough life and suffer, fukk that.

There is a program called Visiting Angels if anyone is thinking something similar.

Will be there with them though while they are around and older. Wouldn’t mind them moving in with me and hiring nursing staff to be honest.

oh and I know your dad is just joking, but cyanide is a terrible way to die (you asphyxiate because your body loses its ability to use O2) there are far better ways to euthanize yourself.

Nope.
I have siblings and 3 nieces lol so I won't be lonely. TBH, I've come to prefer solitude and would like to live out my final years somewhere quiet and close to nature.

I'd had a pacemaker and several strokes by the age of 25, which led to me having similar thoughts. It was bollocks whenIhad those thoughts and it's bollocks whenyouhave them.
It isn't about having kids, it's about control and agency.
Wanting and not wanting kids are both perfectly reasonable life choices, but they should be choices based on desire, not on fear. People shouldn't have kids because they are scared of being old and alone, but they also shouldn'tnothave kids because of various other fears (health, climate change, political climate or whatever).
Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......
