You’ll never grow the game here on the American professional sports model that also imports former stars past their prime.

MLS should split into an A and B league, A league has 20 teams, B gets to 20- 30 by bringing in some USL teams. Institute promotion/relegation. Maybe 5 teams go up/down a season to raise the stakes.

first unbeaten Bundesliga season is a fact now boyos, insane

but the Union Berlin - Freiburg game stole the show:

- 93th minute goal for Union to take the lead

- which puts them in a safe spot and Bochum at the relegation PO place

- puts Heidenheim in 8th instead of Freiburg (and Werder with 1 goal difference lmfao, both won 4-1 today)

--> if Leverkusen win the DFB Pokal next week Heidenheim goes into EUROPE

Sick season by the Bayer Leverkusen team. This makes up for the infamous 2002 disaster where they lost 3 finals in one month and all the cruel jokes that followed. What a way to win your first title and become the first team in Bundesliga history to remain unbeaten, good things come to those who wait. And they still have 2 finals to go! Always nice to see cinderella stories like that.

I'm not dissing playoffs in general (although I prefer a competition without them) but there are certain PO formats that are artificial as fuk (correct wording brah I don't know what to tell you)

the Belgian systems takes the cake: halving of points LMFAO -> why? because otherwise the difference might be too big to have "tension" - solution: we take half of the points away -> artificial tension is created

and for the Championship (and others) the artificial bit there is created in the league itself, there is no way a 6th placed team should have equal chances compared to the 3th placed team -> why do they do this? because otherwise there are a lot more end of season games since nobody would give a fuk about places 9-8-7-6-5 etc. -> artificial again

add to that the 1 match final on Wembley that is also just marketing and retarded imo, you devalue playing there a LOT

should've just been a home and away confrontation but again, generally a lot less "exciting", hence artificial

that's the last I'm gonna say about that though, seems like you just like to hate my stance here lol

You're contradicting yourself brah. English playoffs are as straightforward and real as playoffs get.

Trying to structure it in some way where the number 3 has artificially increased chances over the number 6, now that would be some fake chit.

3-6 in the PL are all teams competing for spots in Europe, so acting like there’s some giant gap between 3rd and sixth in any league doesn’t compute to me.

I get what you’re saying but respectfully disagree. Also disagree on preference for home and away legs. Too many times you just see away teams bunker and hope to go through on the away goal tie breaker. One game to win it all, like a cup or international tournament is best

yeah 8 tickets but one for the cup so Leverkusen needs to win that in order for the 8th to qualify

Yeah the new format is in Football Manager so I've encountered it there like a year ago already lol. Not really excited about the change.
