Who believes Trump and Republicans would follow through with mass deportations?
I keep hearing how based it is that Trump and Republicans are finally supporting mass deportations. But people actually think they're going to follow through with it?
This would be such an uphill battle politically and media-wise it would have to be the top (and probably only) major priority of the administration. ICE would have to be massively expanded or an all new task force created. "Not using local law enforcement" like I've heard from the Trump campaign.
And the media coverage would be relentless. Images of families being pulled out of their homes and forced onto buses. Trump is the guy who buckled on family separation and told Stephen Miller to stop the program because the negative media coverage was too much for him. Crank up the media coverage about 50 notches.

Unless you allow these people to stay, mass deportations have to occur.

If you commit a crime or are on ANY sort of government assistance, you have to go back. Otherwise fukk it, let them stay until their court hearing. It's just too many damn people to try and round up. We have like 2M standing military, which they can't even carry out an operation in the borders, but just to give you an idea of the scale of the illegals, we would have to have every single US military serviceperson round up and deport 5-8 people. Not gonna happen.

Yep I'm a firm supporter of mass deportations but I just don't know how it could be done. There will be plenty of cities who resist it, and chit would get hung up well past a 4 year Republican term.
Once they're here, it's damn near impossible to kick them out. Brandon and crew knew exactly what they were doing by opening up the border.

Not gonna happen, it's every bit as impossible as a mass gun confiscation.
Those illegals are here to stay for the foreseeable future.
The only possibility is if Mexico experiences a manufacturing boom from US companies moving there, then Mexico will have a huge need for workers and illegals in the US and South America will go to Mexico instead.
I used to be against shipping jobs to Mexico, but now I see no other alternative to curb illegal migration.

A better way, IMO, is to remove the illegals from free housing and remove them from Medicare and remove them from receiving compensation and incentives to stay of any kind.

Take away their benefits, punish companies who hire them under the table, and they'll deport themselves.

Trump realistically has to start small scale and focus and also shutting off the "valve" that allows illegals to come in to the US.
I would say start with illegals who have committed crimes here in the US. Things like murder, rape, assault etc. All of them to be deported immediately after serving time in US jails. Simultaneously prioritize migrant programs to help only those with families or perhaps senior citizens and/or females. Male illegals get no benefit or help or support and this will drastically reduce military-age males from coming to the US. Just some ideas; the point is that he cannot (or will not) be able to do a blanket ban on illegals nor will he be able to deport existing illegals in one go. There will be too much resistance from the Democrats and institutions who will be crying "human rights abuse".

Blue states would pass laws forbidding local law enforcement from offering assistance to ICE agents unless the illegal was wanted for a violent crime. Without state cooperation, the ICE operations became too costly and they eventually had to abandon mass deportations.
Red states didn't formally pass laws forbidding their LEOs from cooperating with ICE, but they took a "look the other way" stance and never reported illegals to ICE. Why? Because they wanted that cheap labor.
And the gov never prosecuted any of those big farming companies that hired illegals under the table.
It just doesn't work.

Mass deportation is every bit as logistically impossible as a mass gun confiscation.
The only solution now is for the US to have even higher living costs AND for Mexico to have a booming manufacturing sector, so that these illegals will willingly go to Mexico.
We have to incentivize them to get the f/ck out.

Take away everything that makes it easy for them to be here. Make it uncomfortable for them. While it would be nice if they rounded them all up and shoved them back over, politicians are too poosy to follow the laws because they will look like the bad guy.
We can do things on our own like not hire them and if you have a company working for you using them, fire that company. Our government isn't going to do anything, we have to take it in our own hands. Give them dirty looks and outwardly by body language and speech that you don't want them to be here. Eventually they will grow old of being under constant scrutiny and disdain. If their lives are made to be miserable, maybe they'll leave on their own. Sounds rotten but the fact is they are not welcome here by anybody other than Democrats that want their vote. We have plenty of issues to deal with here without getting burdened more by poor/uneducated/criminal/illegal unwanted invaders.

OF those remaining?
People who have lived here over 5 years? I would create a special process for them. But anyone who came within the past 4 years illegally?
Bye bye.
