I kinda miss cable TV (srs)
Streaming is great, but there are too many options it has become almost a paradox of choice. I often find myself spending more time scrolling through the apps trying to find the most interesting video than actually watching content. TV has become almost as bad as porn or social media.
I miss the simplicity of cable TV. Back in the 90s-00s you had a decent selection, but whatever was on air was what you had to watch. No choice overload. No algorithms. No bullchit. I remember flipping through the channels for no more than a few minutes. You’d either settle on a cool show or movie, or you’d turn off the TV and go outside.

You know what I miss most from the 90s? Trying to pirate Cinemax and watch softcore pr0n on TV.
Any of you boyos remember The Jolly Rodger Cookbook and their BS instructions on how to steal cable? I do.... and I vivid remember those instructions being bullsh/t.
Instead, me and the homies formed our own black market pr0n VHS exchange where we'd steal our dad's pr0n VHS tapes, switch them with each other, copy them, and spread them.
LOVE the 90s.

I use the "Live" option quite often when there is nothing particular that I want to watch.
On Prime live 24/7:
Midsommar Murders, Beyond Belief Fact or Fiction, The Outer Limits
Hulu live:
American Greed, Forensic Files, Walker Texas Ranger, Sanford and Son
There used to be some anime channels that would play things like Case Closed but I can't remember what it as called

the modern world of tv watching has become a paradox of choice....i agree with that. it was nice when all you had was what was on at any given moment. for me growing up it was the 50 or so channels on cable. after about midnight you knew there just wouldn't be much on. after conan the choices got even smaller to the point where you just end up watching infomercials, shopping channels or some random crappy movie/tv show.
modern world is all about keeping you engaged 24/7...and that can burn you out after a few decades. at this point it feels like i've seen all i wanted to see so despite all the options there's nothing on.
