WTF: Renaissance Center in Detroit slated for demolition
I’m not even from Detroit but this pisses me off. GM’s RenCen is an iconic American landmark, a symbol of our dominance in the automotive industry and a great example of mid-late 20th century Modern architecture.

Demolition would be a tremendous loss and a symbol of America’s decline…

Motor City brahs, save your skyscrapers!!!!

It's a nice building, but I get it. It takes up a large chunk of the riverfront and wasn't planned well for pedestrian access. In terms of future city planning, it kinda needs to happen. It's essentially a building that was designed entirely for GM business travel, which isn't a thing anymore so the building is obsolete.
